One of sports news reports said they expected 25,000 i was wondering where that had come from, I
guess that’s the answer , if
they have already sold 20k before the second side had even qualified then wouldn’t 30k be on the cards ?

 

I just hope that South Fremantle are not too wounded to at least make a game of it. The last thing the WAFL needs is another 15 goal flogging in a Grand Final.

I can't see that happening Mike.  In 2019 we lost one game all year.  This year our most recent form is less than convincing in that we almost gave up a 7 goal lead to Souths in the second semi.  We just fell over the line in our previous game against Peel to finish on top and a loss to EF in round 19.  Also factor in that we have played only 1 game in 28 days and I'm not overly confident that's for sure.

Everyone expected Claremont to win due to Souths injuries but they were very disciplined with their game plan, very well coached and very hard at the contest. Souths only have a 6 day break, which for a GF lead up is just not acceptable imho.
I expect Souths to start fast given Subi's lack of recent game time but expect they may fade towards the end in a similar fashion to the AFL Doggies and as they did in the prelim. Subi by a couple of goals.

I’m afraid all the warning signs are there for a replication of the last result , Subi will go in unbackable favourites for good reason. 

The spectacular look of the afl gf at Perth Stadium last Saturday evening should have got the WAFC moving the WAFL GF to a twilight fixture starting at 4pm or later but alas.
Also would have given the Colts & Reserves a better starting time.
The Stadium is a showpiece and is even more amazing at night when the lighting can take effect!

I see they have moved it to a slightly later start, which is ok by me but I reckon 5pm would of been ideal.

According to the Subi website there's over 25,000 tickets sold which no doubt would be on the back of Swans playing in the colts and Perth in the ressies to some extent. I guess there may also be some latent demand for those who missed out on tickets to the AFL GF. It does make a mockery of last year's decision to play the GF at Freo Oval.

Isn’t the idea to take the game to as many people as possible?  If so, even if the very bottom line is a 10 dollar profit, that’s a success.
