I don't think I've been this disinterested in a WAFL GF since.... well, last year. Or maybe the year before. Or maybe the year before that. Or until next year when two of S, SF and C play off again.

Well the subi clubrooms were thrilling and footy is a  hard game. They don't give you premierships. You gotta earn them.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

Attendance of close to 30000 should ensure that Optus Stadium is the permanent home of the WAFL grand final. No more suburban ovals.

Yes Mike. Leigh Kitchin made the point in his GF speech yesterday that playing at Optus means a lot to players who sacrifice a great deal to play WAFL footy when they all work or study full time. To run out on the best sports stadium in Australia in front of 30k people must be a huge buzz for guys who are semi professional at best. The optics of a run down Freo Oval last year wasn't great so the GF should never leave Optus again.

It was good at OPTUS but:

Spectators had to line up far too long for an alcoholic drink. This had some missing good parts of the game. It also annoyed sitting spectators who had to be up and down on their seats like jack rabbits accommodating returning people from the bar.

At the AFL, everyone can get their drinks and be back in their seats for the start of the quarter.

Anyway keep it at OPTUS, weaken the west/north west corridor of WAFL teams by introducing another team in Joondalup necessitating WP, Subi and Claremont having to lose junior/country metro teams to get this new Club up and running.

This will bring great clubs like Swans, EF, EP and the Dees back into the hunt.

Two of these four in the GF would be something. A possible 40K perhaps.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Yep I heard that some bars had run out at half time , it was ok in my area but not in others.

s good turn out yesterday , obviously some contributing factors as it surpassed 2018 and 2019 at Optus, can’t see it going to suburban ground again unless there’s another covid drama.
Firstly playing it Saturday is a winner, Sunday should be ruled out, as it having it later in the season after the AFL also the later start is definitely the go, try a twilight game next year.
But far bigger issues at hand, the WAFL need to urgently get some consultants in to do something about competition equalisation even if it means talking to AFL as they have had an amazing blend of winners, the old VFL was dominated by one or two big cash clubs for decades that’s still the case in the WAFL.

I have always stated the WAFL GF should always be at Perth Stadium and hopefully the WAFC never go back to suburban grounds for WA sports leagues biggest state based game.
The fans have voted with their feet, the players all want to play at the Stadium and of course most importantly to the WAFC they do a better corporate function there!
