That's what I was thinking too DF....think some of the Perth boys are under rating the Avon Valley and it's productivity.....metro for sure, but country?....not that shabby of late.

Obviously a lot STT....according to the WAFC zoning decision makers....out of interest how has Geraldton area benefited EF in the last 20 years then STT....if AFL draftees aren't in your eyes considered a criteria of a productive country zone......

My boys play for Coolbinia in the EP district.

EP, Perth an SD are in what they call the central conference. 

Subi, Clare and WP are in what they call the Northern conference. 

EF, SF and Peel are what they call the Southern conference. 

All of theses conferences have divi abc&d. 

Perth don’t have any teams in divi A or B in year 10. They don’t have any teams in divi A in 9 and only 1 team in divi B. 

But there’s nothing wrong with the system or zones. 



 

Good post, TFAF. We will never haver any success under the current system. We may pop up here and there and sneak into finals, but we can't build sustained success. We have made finals 4 times since 1978 and never in consecutive seasons. But people on here prefer to lecture us about hard work and pulling yourself up by your bootstraps. You know, the sort of people who say that the solution to long term unemployment is to get off your arse and get a job. 

 just it out interest, and as a new source of information,  Curtin uni and trinity Aquinas = indication of some footy in the area still.

Ted I tried looking for census data abt the population of the PFC district but i did find a needle but alas not much on the age spreads across PFC and EPFC . It would be useful to see how we compare as to the demographics, the answers may lie in there but will keep trying.

I now have a schools data file but obviously it is huge, not know the secondary schools in your are makes it a bit difficult to cull the necessary info, perhaps StT can use the link to do the necessary  det.wa.edu.au/schoolinformation/detcms/n...ical-reports/?page=2 .The CSV school census one is what I looked at!
 

Article in The West today. Adam Simpson saying that the Eagles are likely to target private school boys from stable backgrounds in the draft. Given cut backs in revenue, they can't afford to develop/nuture players with off-field problems.

Yep no more Elijah Taylor and Sydney Stacks taken on by AFL clubs. Claremont might have 14 taken in the draft this year. Simpson said it. Parents still together, private education = less likely to have off field problems. Who would have thought? Any surprise John Townsend your club enjoys great and consistent success?

Be very careful in future when you lay the cheap shots on the Perth Football Club where it is lumped with low socioeconomic areas that results in relationship breakdowns, marriage break ups, turmoil for young kids, broken homes, unstable homes, unstable education, drawn towards criminal activity etc, etc, etc…….

It’s about time clubs like yours shared the burden and we enjoyed some of the luxuries your club enjoys.

I'm not disputing what you say DD as I dont have any facts to support what you say or the opposite view point regarding family stability, marriage breakups and crime being more prevalent in areas like Lathlain, Vicpark, Rivervale Carlisle and the like compared to Cottesloe Claremont, Nedlands, Subiaco, City Beach, Scarborough Marmion, Whitfords and the like, do you have those facts? I'm, not sure money guarantees stable anything, it buys you a big house a nice car, private school and a big TV but not sure of the other stuff, but I'll take heed of any data you have that supports your assertions.

Read it again you intellectual pygmy, I said I don't have the facts to dispute DD's claims and ask if he does have the facts to support his claims in which case I will support his position.
