Birdman is from a senior club mate, not sure he has said anything about his engagement with the Hawks who are now the Stingrays ( hint hint about how far I go back in junior footy in South Perth).

I invite you not to call me on my involvement in the District mate, I’ve seen it all...
I am not making this stuff up....

And I’m not chucking crap from thousands of miles away.
STT why don't you copy and paste what Birdman has posted here and email the Perth Football Club and see what they have to say about it. Then you can post their reply on here. It would be disturbing if there is an ounce of truth to what Birdman is claiming because you and I both agree our talent pool seems to be the weakest in the comp and even against Peel on the weekend with just 6 Fremantle players they made us look second rate and we are stacked with recruits.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Lots of talls from CFC - at least 4 at high 190-200+ range. Well done EPFC - doing the impossible without an ocean view.
STT - what was the response from PFC on the enquiry that you’ve been waiting to get an answer on?

bicton  is a long long way from EPFC (East PERTH) zone. Just as Noranda is a long way from the ocean.
I expect you have the memory of an elephant STT, I was just asking whether you’d had a  response.

Things move quickly out at Perth, nearly 6 weeks just to organise a catch up chat about if the club engages with its community based clubs. Should have a detailed plan by 2023 and they might roll it out by 2025.

Last week WP sent their senior players back to their junior clubs to run training sessions. Claremont did it this week. Our local junior club got visited by several players from both clubs.

That’s ok STT, very good of you to say sorry.
I wasn’t really that offended that you thought that I didn’t know that fremantle is by the sea 😂. I do admire your confidence though, in choosing between you being wro, wro… and me being an idgit.
no harm done though and I genuinely appreciate your apology.

I had to reference my Roget's Thesaurus for the term Idgit.

Welcome to the debate PD.

What is required, I think , is

1. Examples
2. What would you like PFC to do that it is not
3. An argument for how if PFC did those things it would turn PFC’s low socio economic zone into one capable of delivering the club with the depth needed to be competitive.
4. Some examples of players in our zone who have moved to other clubs because of PFC lack of engagement in the zone and ‘really showed us.’

The debate is really about the quality of our zone but supporters of other clubs, and you, are trying to make it about PFC work in the zone.  That’s fine but the above relevant in that context.

Cheers
Sorry its taken me so long to reply. Firstly I think it is undeniable that our zone is well and truly under performing and I would assume financial demographics must have something to do with it. However, I stand by my comment about PFC not working the zone enough.  I've been involved in 3 football clubs in our zone as well as 3 primary schools and 2 high schools and in all of those years I've never seen a PFC representative at a training session, a game or an information session. Neil Darby attended one colts memorial game at my personal invite (and stayed for 5 minutes).  Back in the 70/80s PFC players could be seen everywhere. I recall them visiting our schools 2 or 3 times a year, running handball competitions and raffles in Vic Park, Carousel, Belmont, Maddington and Gosnells shopping centres. I haven't seen a player in a shopping centre since 1991. I have seen Subiaco, Claremont and West Perth Players in public arenas in their zones.   All PFC seem to do is go to the prison and Clontarf Aboriginal College.  Some players and coaches might have some involvement in clubs that they personally sprung from - but that's it.

As STT states Perth needs some more money in their zone besides South Perth. Applecross is 15 minutes to Lathlain and the obvious choice. No use adding Armadale and Kelmscott.
This is part 2 of the issue. If we add areas like Applecross we will have the Leggett and English issue. These players want to play with mates who all reside in Bicton, East Fremantle, Mount Pleasant, Palmyra etc. Guaranteed if Logan McDonald was delisted at the end of the year he would chose to play with mates at East Fremantle.

Interestingly PD I played my whole junior footy career in Perth's zone through the 1980s & into the early 1990s and the only visit we had from a Perth player in that whole time was your profile pic "The Buzz" circa 1984.
We did have a number of SD players come down for skills session over that period even though we were not in the SD zone but that could have been because they were friends of our coach at the time.
