Sorry to hear your misses got attacked in Perth. I guess those things can happen anywhere. Then you had that horrific terrorist attack by an Australian on Muslims in Christchurch wasn't it? It seems the fuel companies are determined to get us up to around $2 a litre here.

I take what you say about the health care sector being the same everywhere but the government here is always boasting about how great our economy is but can't find the money to spend on the health sector. It suits McGowan politically to keep us locked up and put the fear of God into everyone if he relaxes the border. There is a huge cost to his strategy. He is killing sport in this state but he wouldn't have a sporting bone in his body.

I see all Australians are able to travel overseas to selected countries from tomorrow except West Aussies who won't be allowed back into the state. Where's Clive and his High Court challenge when you need him?

It certainly is a very strange situation, with fellow Australians being accorded Freedoms we arent, the most annoying thing is not only is nothing opening up but McClown hasnt laid down any road map with time lines for us getting out of this and is still talking lockdowns, masks and restrictions.

Planet:Earth
Area:outside metro area.
Maybe the Leader of our state,Mark Mcgowan,is more intent on paying off the huge debt our former leader [he was a Liberal]left us all,80 bill wasnt it?
Maybe instead of building a stadium and qe2 quay,he could have built more hospitals?
Haha corrupt dealings,I would have thought our leaders in Canberra might own that honor, does Jobkeeper ring a bell?
Libs very popular here in WA,how many seats did they win last election?hint, fark all.
Anyways Bazza,I wont answer anymore of your posts,I put you in the same group as a few Perth posters,im sure you can figure out what group that is.

You do know building hospitals cost money, cant work your argument out, you start off complaining that nothing new was built and now complain that it was, ramping by the way was a fraction under Barnett to what it is now.

As for the Stadium - its been a massive success and one of the best sporting investments made in the nation.

Building new hospitals ain't gonna improve WA failing Health sector.....how about encouraging folk to actually  want to work in the current hospitals built.......better pay ultimately means more hands on deck and thus better/ safer staffing to decrease wait times, ramping,  surgery waiting lists etc......a pristine fancy looking hospital means fark all if you have skeleton/burnt out staff working in it......

From the President of AMA WA Mark Duncan-Smith who has absolutely nailed it.

Dr Duncan-Smith said Premier Mark McGowan’s sentiment surrounding not opening the border because he did not want people to have to wear masks for Christmas was a cop-out.

He said the real factor keeping WA closed off from the world was because the State’s hospitals would struggle to cope with an outbreak.

He again criticised the McGowan Government for cutting the operation budget of the health system by $70 million over the next two years, amid a health crisis.

“What they’re actually doing is cutting the operational budget, so the ability to pay nurses’ wages, pay for bandages, pay for artificial hips,” he said.

Unfortunately BC most voters it seems don’t read stuff like that until it affects them or someone close to them who suffers because of an inefficient and poor hospital ED service. Most voters it seems are selfish self entitled individuals who all they care about is being able to go to the pub without wearing a mask.

Good to see the new AMA president isn’t singing from McGoos hymn sheet.

I would very much appreciate it Freezin if you could expand on that from your professional perspective and write to Mark McGowan. You would be doing West Australians a big favour.

Come on BC, why quote the head of the doctors union, I mean what would a doctor know about the health system and covid?

We all really know this is all Barnets fault, and Sneakers is pretty much as close to god as you get.

And now we see the AMA having to go to court to overturn another case of McGowan's callous health penny pinching where he and his hopelessly incompetent health minister decided to break the contract and cut the wages of 10 specialist Doctors who work in a special unit that deals with victims of sexual assault!!

Surely with a $5billion surplus the last thing you do is cut the wages of these absolutely essential health professionals.
This man has lost his moral & ethical compass.
