Damned if you do and damned if you don't I reckon for McGoo..not sure there is a Health Sector world wide ready or prepared to deal with COVID....historically been run on its bare bones, by skeleton staffing and health professionals good will for decades by many a govt......find it interesting however that such mentality has come back to bite many a country / state / city in the arse during these COVID times....no other sector in the world could shut down borders like the Health sector....yet it's the one sector that has been for decades been mismanaged the most by politicians....

SA is building a purpose built facility just for Covid-19 patients so Covid-19 patients won’t be admitted to hospitals. It will be a specialised unit. The first state to do it. Get onto it Laurel and Hardy.

Yes he did a good job in the beginning, I think we could all agree.
However it's all currently starting to look silly. There has been plenty of time for implementing a forward moving plan. Instead sitting on their hands is like we are all in no man's land.

Thats exactly how I see it.

We're in the same boat wag along with most others on here in that we we're full of praise how it was handled in the beginning when the full impact of Covid was unknown and McGoo did a terrific job shutting the place down. Now his stance has become a national joke and we're about 6 months behind every other state and counting.

Yep - We can run and hide like chicken little for ever, at least give us a plan and some dates and targets so people can plan and join the rest of the country.

Victoria:84,942 cases since covid started,1090 deaths.
NSW:74634 cases,562 deaths.
Wa:1112 cases,9 deaths
Seems Vic and Nsw hospitals aren't coping to well.
Im sure you will all be happy when you can fly around the world, bring back a new strain of covid and infect everyone around you.
Apart from not being able to spend your coin on travelling over seas or interstate, what other restrictions do you have?,you can move around WA freely,go shopping, have bbqs etc.etc etc
Mcgowan has been in power for 5 years, did we have premiers before him?did they build new hospitals?or just build stuff to have a plaque with thier name on.
Fark all political parties i reckon, but mark mcgowan has at least shown some nuts by doing things for the best for western australians, which to me has worked as shown by the covid figures.
Each to their own opinion, mine wont change.

Actually yeah they did build new hospitals, what planet have you been hiding on? Fiona Stanley, Perth Childrens, new Karratha Hospital new Midland Hospital et al ...

We are all still wiating for McClown to actually do something beside Covid...at the momemebt the health sector is a shambles due to poor staffing and its now been revealed his beloved metronet is going to cost $7.4 Billion thats a 150% blow out on what he told us and is years behind schedule,

Covid has sure been a handy skirt to hid behind on whats been some pretty terrible government on top  of  the corrupt dealings that are going on. Including Crown laundering, suspect land deals, minister flying around in billioniares helicopters to parties,

Planet:Earth
Area:outside metro area.
Maybe the Leader of our state,Mark Mcgowan,is more intent on paying off the huge debt our former leader [he was a Liberal]left us all,80 bill wasnt it?
Maybe instead of building a stadium and qe2 quay,he could have built more hospitals?
Haha corrupt dealings,I would have thought our leaders in Canberra might own that honor, does Jobkeeper ring a bell?
Libs very popular here in WA,how many seats did they win last election?hint, fark all.
Anyways Bazza,I wont answer anymore of your posts,I put you in the same group as a few Perth posters,im sure you can figure out what group that is.

I guess we could ask where is Hollywood Hospital getting their healthcare professionals to staff their brand spanking new private ED hospital? Won’t be a free service, will cost you $200 to see an ED doctor. Might be a blue chip gig for you there mate? Hoges is coming home, Greg Norman is coming home, we can’t tempt you? Maybe if Bill a Bong gets the sharks into September that might be the carrot?

Sounds like a great idea that Hollywood E.D DD....no doubt it will be nice and quiet, especially if people have to pay.....staff to patient ratios will be safer at least....no ramping, no wait times... unlike currently in the other bigger hospitals.....staff will be queuing up to jump ship and work there I reckon.....as for me mate.....

gee I would come home in a heart beat.....but sadly after my wife got attacked out running around the Swan, when we lived here back in 2001, we scampered to sleepy NZ.....Perth is a family visit zone only mate......being English , the NZ weather suits her better as well, plus she gets to hit the slopes and I still get to hit the waves....financially we earn as much here as I would in Perth, with marginally better conditions, less wait times, less ramping thus less patient abuse, less traffic, less drug issues which come living in a bigger city....though the Aussie hating Kiwi's, less sun hours, way too much rugby and paying $2.50 per litre for petrol can make living here in sleepy hollow Christchurch trying at times....but that's life....pro's and cons where ever you go......do miss the footy though.....

Health sectors are farked where ever you go.....instead of  Govt's throwing money at concrete, building fancy new hospitals.....throw it at the staff instead...... thus encouraging staff retention, attracting people to the profession, boosting numbers......way too many people jump ship , experienced and fed up with years of same old same old and newbies getting out not liking what they are getting into.......it's not a WA problem, it's rife all round the world...and becomes more noticeable when something like COVID comes along......treat a dog poorly, don't expect it to coming running when you need it too......
