I would say WCE wouldn't have a colts or reserves teams. Adelaide don't in the SANFL- not sure about Port Adelaide....

EDIT: Port have a Reserves but no Colts.

LH: Do you think they will be competitive? Back when the alingment rubbish startted for the second time, a couple of the EP supporters suggestted the club would be strong whilst they had their hardened league players, weak when they retired. This prediction has proved to be largelly correct. In other words it has been the EP players whom have held the hands of the Eagles players. They could really struggle on their own.

No you cannot have an AFL side running a colts program in another state's comp - it's why Port Magpies Juniors were ended
There is NO WAY any kids should be allowed anywhere near them in this state (they have their draft)

Port were already a SANFL entity so kept their ressies as top ups & continuity

Adelaide a new club - topped up with recruiting conc's & Ammos no need for reserves

Exactly what sort of crowd would there be to watch an Eagles' team in the WAFL? You do realise that once they have a reserves' team in the WAFL, they would dictate when and where they would play. So we have removed all the colts' matches to play at one venue (most likely a redeveloped WACA ground), the reserves scrapped or banished to 9.00 am on a Sunday and crowds of 400 in matches featuring the Eagles' reserves team. Is this what we really aspire for our WAFL competition?

I have come to prefer the alignment model; the thing I dislike about it, is that it has never been endorssed by the EP members -- for an obvious reason. If you let them in the competition, they will have two votes, will influence over the votes of other clubs, domminatting everything over time.

The SANFL have lost two clubs over the years and sold their licences to the VFL --- they have filled to protect South Australian football.

LH has mostly nailed it, don't know enough about the ressies or colts situation yet but at league level it's a no brainer to get WC out of EP and get that once great club back up and running. They will take at least 3 years to rebuild their list but that will be a far more preferable option than seeing their identity totally disappear if a new alignment deal is done.

Comments that WC will dominate decision making at WAFL level?? It's up to the G7 to set the parameters of their inclusion in the comp. One condition is that they have no say on how the WAFL is run and no votes at the table. I'm sure WC just want to have all their players playing their own drab game plan in their own drab team without having to give any thought to what their WAFL hosts want ... if they actually do now!

It seems to be working fine in SA and they haven't got much wrong in how they run their comp.

LH and SS: points well made; it will depend on whom wins the civil war at EP.

The WCE WAFL team can play at whatever time they want for all I care. It's only 2 matches per year v each WAFL club.

By all accounts they will play at Lathlain No 2.

As long as they leave EP and Perth alone. They've caused enough destruction already.

They haven't removed all the colts matches and relocated them to one ground by the way.

A lot of that will depend on what the WAFL clubs decide.

We shall see about the colts' matches. Interesting about at Lathlain; didn't they previously suggest that they would play at the other club's ground?

So if the Eagles have a stand alone team. That means 10 sides 18 rounds a game vs each team home and away.
But if the Eagles takes over an existing team is where it's interesting for me.The zones are they allocated to the G7 or G8 clubs. Both city and country zones. If a Wafl club fallsover and the Eagles hand them a lifeline.Does that club require zones anymore.

They've done damage at CL, done perhaps permanent damage at EP twice.

No more damage! No more ripping the guts out of the traditional clubs. It's heartbreaking.

And hands off Perth FC or heaven forbid for Swan 42's sake...The mighty black and whites

LaH I have already told several directors at Swans that if Swans ever did get in bed with the Eagles I would walk away. As an anecdote I spoke to a Perth and Eagles supporter he would never watch another Perth game if they got in bed with the Eagles.

The problem is that the Eagles and Dockers don't give a stuff about the WAFL and the irreparable damage that they are doing to the WAFL and the WAFL clubs. Worse than that is that the WAFC are actively complicit in the destruction of the WAFL.
