I have nothing but disdain for the WAFC and what it has done to the WAFL over the years.

While I sympathise with most of what you say BC, it doesn't help when you get WAFL Clubs continuously flogging the comp with self inflicted wounds, i.e. voting for the entry of Peel, voting for the entry of the dockers, offering themselves up to be aligned clubs, I mean one really has to wonder. there always seems to be a strong element within the WAFL clubs that end up dancing to the merry tune.

I don't disagree Baz but the WAFC threw up all of your points as a fait accompli....either get on board or miss the bus so to speak so unfortunately some of the WAFL clubs did just that. if the WAFC had pushed back on the alignment model floated by Freo and WCE, and had the foresight to see a 9th Mandurah based team would be a disaster then we wouldn't be having this discussion. the entry of the Dockers is a different kettle of fish as an expanded AFL was always going to happen as it was a directive of the AFL itself but the other things you've mentioned are entirely the result of decisions made by the WAFC.

Making excuses like saying something was a fait acompli doesn't get the ones that voted pro WAFC off the hook, fact is the clubs had a vote ; if they are as resolute and determined to protect the comp as they sometimes moot, then why collaborate with the WAFC? The Peel vote was a bloody low point for mine and the clubs 100% had the power to stop it there and then, some of the clubs have done just as much damage as the WAFC tbh.

Could the meeting today between the WA Government, AFL, WAFC and Venueslive talk about the TWO WA AFL Clubs licences being sold off to fund WA football into the future?

The State Government and taxpayers should not be forking out an additional CENT of tax payers money to the Eagles and Dockers, , those tossers have had a free ride for decades , the end result is about 60 million stacked in the bank, McGowan needs to tell them to get stuffed. as for selling off the AFL Club licences lets hope so.

Assumming WP hold, only one will get in the finals. Both have hard fixtures to come in future weeks.

let's hope so AR because if they do both make the finals it'll be 2 AFL teams playing off in a WAFL grand final...maybe that's what we need to happen to get the WAFC to come to its senses.

Baz makes a really good point. Most of the current Wafl problems have been caused by decisions by the Wafl clubs.

its a catch 22 for some clubs as we all know decisions are made by a higher power whether that be the AFL or the WAFC and they use "influence" to get votes and decisions their way.

and when clubs disagree on something like the colts decision then it get taken out of their hands anyway.
