LH i know a fair few Royal fans that are split on the alignment .It's not there club proper any more. But under the alignment the club survives in a financially strong position. The Eagles could do more to embrace EP as Freo do with Peel.Winning them a Flag last year.
Swan 42..The clocks ticking but there still time to fix the Wafl comp imo.To remove the AFL alignments that has destroyed tier 2 Afl Australia wide.
A night time series under lights starting at the end of the AFL season. As the. À-League has done to avoid the clash with the AFL+NRL.The AFL brand is just to powerful in the footy market place.Eagles played Sat arvo and Dockers Sun arvo and 90% of footy fans want that.Even the new Lady's AFL has there comp pre-AFL season.

Exactly what sort of crowd would there be to watch an Eagles' team in the WAFL? You do realise that once they have a reserves' team in the WAFL, they would dictate when and where they would play. So we have removed all the colts' matches to play at one venue (most likely a redeveloped WACA ground), the reserves scrapped or banished to 9.00 am on a Sunday and crowds of 400 in matches featuring the Eagles' reserves team. Is this what we really aspire for our WAFL competition?

The WCE WAFL team can play at whatever time they want for all I care. It's only 2 matches per year v each WAFL club.

By all accounts they will play at Lathlain No 2.

As long as they leave EP and Perth alone. They've caused enough destruction already.

They haven't removed all the colts matches and relocated them to one ground by the way.

A lot of that will depend on what the WAFL clubs decide.

We shall see about the colts' matches. Interesting about at Lathlain; didn't they previously suggest that they would play at the other club's ground?

I think they might play a few before the AFL also.

We would get in for WAFL prices but would have to clear out before the AFL game starts which is fine by me as I don't want to watch AFL anymore and haven't done for 3 years.

You seriously think that we would be able to get into the new stadium to watch the "WAFL" game? I think that is less likely than me being able to sell you an opera house located next to the Sydney Harbour.

Just to divert for a moment Swan 42...what about some votes from you?

LaH I had a young niece with me yesterday so I wasn't fully focused on the entire game so it wouldn't be fair for me to provide them this round. For what it is worth if you like I can provide my thoughts in next week's game.

LH: I agree with you on the EP supporters, they used to strut around as though they owned the WAFL win lose or draw. The other thing about EP is that they have a genuine rivallry with the better patr of half of the competition -- WP, the PFC, SD, and not forgetting, the car par rivallry with Subi. The type of stuff the WAFL needs.

So if I'm correct EP was the most hated team. Become aligned and stayed hated. Become unaligned and remain the most hated. Bronte Could buy 1500 memberships and win any vote I'm led to believe so EP will likely stay aligned.

Yeah mate...I miss them....I want the old EP back. S v EP was building into a really good rivalry.

We are still here mate, albeit a little quieter.

I remember a few years ago, a chap named Ben came into the East Perth Members area and talked with about 4 or five of us for quite a while during the Reserves game. The next day, he posted on the old "Waflonline" forum that he had a good chat with solid, passionate East Perth supporters.

He finished with "All good football people."

Both Eagles and Dockers should have a Stand alone team. But playing the WAFL teams in a different comp.

11 teams in a comp Called something like the BHP Cup.
9 teams in the comp Called The WAFL

11 teams playing the other 10 twice for 20 games each club.

The WAFL clubs would be playing 16 WAFL games (two each against the other 8 WAFL clubs) and 4 BHP cup games.
The Eagles and Dockers would be playing 20 BHP cup games.

The winner of the WAFL (top 5 final series) gets the prestige.

The winner of the BHP cup (who's on top at the end of the season) get some good coin.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!
