My idea protects the WAFL. And you are taking about 1982! FFS

If the games against the 2 BHP sides carry points in the WAFL comp then I see merit in your idea albeit challenged by a lot of variables but if the points don't count then reserves sides will get played by mid table sides...can you clarify if your idea means every game counts for points on the WAFL table

WAFL games complety different to "BHP" games. The nine WAFL teams main purpose would be to win the WAFL premiership. As a bonus they would be getting a solid cash incentive to win each "BHP" Cup game and a huge cash incentive to finish on top of the "BHP" Cup ladder.

gtr: thanks -- I know what you mean too. Can you imagine what the Royals would have been like if they had of won most of those grand finals? They would have been completelly out of control. For about ten years, I would sit in the EP members every second week as a Subi man and nver had a problem; some really good people. My best mate was a hard line EP man; every other week, give or take, accordding to the fixtures, we would go watch Subi play.

So each BHP game is kinda like a beat the dealer assuming that Freo and WCE are putting up the money...can't imagine a benefit to the BHP type company for fronting up big coin

Time for a Flag: your idea has merit. What you would do is have two trophies:

the WAFL league -- the nine clubs
the WAFL cup-- the 11 clubs

only the nine WAFL clubs could win the 'double'.

Yes Exactly Ark. DW the money will be found if the 9 WAFL Clubs sell the idea.

By far and away better than the crap 18 games they are going to next year. The WAFL maintains its integrity. WAFL clubs may jag a bit of coin. Eagle and Docker supporters more likely to watch their beloved in a appropriate gurney rather than Peel or East Perth jumper.

42 was correct, it was to do with the VFL changing the playing dates v Richmond

Hardly a fair platform for a healthy WAFL competition when you have host clubs getting mega-rich and the rest of the comp struggling to stay alive
No equality when there are millions available for a professional business club that wants nothing to do nor be associated with the WAFL other than have access to under-age kids for drafting
Too many conflicts of interest , get rid of these scum licences before it kills everything , they're being used as weapons now

One other thing - if you still actually required evidence of what the two AFL clubs really think , then have a close look at what that lot of Cockburn parodies did to the City of Fremantle , they didn't like the notion of embracing the town they named themselves after nor becoming fully engaged with the two foundation Fremantle clubs , far , far far from it.
