Periods of domination are not unknown in WAFL history without Subis cash. SF won 6 out of 8 1947 to 1954 EP won 7 out of 9 1919-1927 ..

And how do you explain Subis premiership drought from 1988 to 2004?

1988 - finsihed on top and premiers
1989 - 6th
1990 - 7th
1991 - finished 2nd and runner up
1992 - 4th
1993 - 5th (top 5 then)
1994 - 4th
1995 - 1st and runner up
1996 - last shock horror what happened there?
1997 - 7th
1998 - 3rd - doesn't take long to bounce back
1999 - 3rd
2000 - 2nd
2001 - 4th (still playing finals)
2002 - 2nd
2003 - 1st - runner up
2004 - 1st - premiers

So lets see between 1988 and 2004 that's 14 finals appearances out of 17, 2 premierships and 3 times runner up. And your point was Bazza?

That is a period of success any club would take in a heart beat. Surely you are not suggesting this was a baron period for Subiaco?

Not sure mate, South have not won a wooden spoon since 1987! Subi far more recent..

And the word is some big names coming to Perth. Hopefully Marty is in Troppy's ear about the latest developments and he sees success coming for Perth next year and beyond.

I should have added to the above from the last 12 years-

7 Premierships (04, 06, 07, 08, 14, 15, 16)
2 Runners Up (09, 11)
1 Minor Premiers (05) but went out in straight sets

And yet a certain poster on here reckoned they hadn't really dominated  :S .....along with the alignment 2 this mob been the major reason the WAFL Crowds and interest this year reach the lowest levels since 1941.

For South

1987 WS
1988 3 quick recovery
1989 2
1990 3
1991 7
1992 2
1993 4
1994 6
1995 3
1996 6
1997 1 Another quick recovery
1998 6
1999 2
2000 7
2001 3
2002 6
2003 6
2004 3
2005 1
2006 2
2007 3
2008 3
2009 1
2010 7
1022 4
2012 6
2013 7
2014 7
2015 7
2016 finished 2nd

So the last few years have actually been our worst run since the advent of the eagles.

The decade from 2001 to 2011 being the best making finals 8 times including a 6 yr. straight run from 2004 to 2009.

DD it's Perths time now. They have been building this side under Earl Spalding.Your soon to have WC as a co-tennant with new facilities.Dont think any red blooded Demons fan wants the alignment.Hope Troppo stays will be disappointed if Subi recruit him.The same goes for Swans having a crack at Mzungu.
BH wouldn't pencil 16 in just yet.If Peel beat SF they will give Subi a decent GF..There is some historic value to Peel making there 1st GF.18 Dockers playing good footy.Freo take the alignment more seriously than. WC imo.

It is definitelly their time over the next three or four seasons provided they can get them all back at the club. Let us hope they don't stuff it up. The PFC should have made the finals during the tenure of the last coach.

From the outside looking in Ark there allways seems to be infighting and players walking out of the club.Bit like Swans this year.
It's not just important for the Demons but there resergance of the WAFL competition. When Spalding left Perth they where a strong club under Mal Brown.Earl said he would allways return to the club.Hopefully he's the glue that joins the club as 1.

Gtrxuone your last sentence is rubbish. It is not that the eagles don't take the alignment seriously but that their list drops off dramitcally after 25.we have six players on the afl list who have never played afl and some of these are straight out of under 18's and have been throne into wafl a little bit too soon.If you look at peels 17 Afl listed p[layers they have a good mix.Players who are of afl quality at the end of their career or some still at their peak as well as a few who have played afl this year and will improve even further next year.Bll Monaghan got it right it in todays west when he said it wasn't the number they had but the quality of those guys.Freo showed last year they took the alignment seriously when they rested their players and peel had hardly any players in the game aginst west perth.
