Freeze, there lies my point at the top of this thread, with the alignment and the 3rd AFL club in $ubi, players across the competition are limited to Finals success!

Grassy what exactly would that achieve its ludicrous even SA right on
The Vic border don't have teams in the VFL and even if they did how many more players would it suck out of the wafl
To field Two stand alone reserves teams playing over east each week btw does that also
Mean Sandringham etc comes here every
Week to play great people go
And watch that
Instead of WAFL?

Grassy if that was to happen, perhaps Trops would like to have a go proving his worth playing for them in the VFL.....change of scenery, better facilities.....these clubs would need to get top ups from some where...surely they would have some money to entice them....a rookie contract surely must be worth more than what top WAFL players are getting....thus pay a similar amount and you might see a bunch of good WAFL boys jump ship for a 1 - 2 experience playing for an AFL club....might be the closest way to the AFL experience they will ever get!

Leedy Perths failure over 30 odd years runs deeper than the alignment , Ffs their last flag was an entire decade before the Eagles even came onto the scene

Yeah BH what is your solution mate?.....

EP and Peel leave the comp? or go alone, meaning top ups could be attracted to these two clubs....money always talks eh?......
Peel and EP only get the ES recruits and all local boys go back to original clubs?....
Increase quota for finals eligibility?.....
Subi have points/ recruiting restrictions?
The points system for the next year is based upon the ladder the preceding year(disregarding Peel/EP) thus bottom WAFL club gets more points to play with and so on up to the top WAFL club who gets reduced points....but they make create tanking for points perhaps?.....

Its pretty simple Freeze, all the AFL players go back to their WAFL clubs of origin and the others drafted since the alignment are placed in a reverse draft or the WAFL coaches sit around a table and select who they prefer until they are all distributed. Ric Charlseworth said it was a bad decision to get all the players into the one club, he mate it clear that diversity fast tracks and develops athletes better than keeping them in there comfort zone.

What was wrong with the old system in the WAFL where players stayed at the club they were drafted from and there was the reverse draft system for Interstate recruits?

Wasnt the whole premise of starting up WCE back in 86 to stop the constant raping of the WAFL clubs by Victorian clubs and to keep most of the playing talent in WA whilst playing for their original WAFL side when not selected for WCE?

If the WAFL clubs knew now what was to happen down the track would all of those clubs who voted for it (SD & SF voted against) back in 86 have changed their decision I wonder?

They have to Convince Aiden, that we Can Guarantee him Finals Action.

Over to you PFC Board and Marty.

to be perfectly honest grassy I'd prefer Subi to develop from within rather than recruit someone like Troppo. we currently have Bogensperger, Walters and co running around in the twos who have a lot of upside. I'm not sure if Troppo contacted Subi or vice versa but let's look in our own backyard first.

Absolutely spot on Leedy. Freezin keeps on saying can't hold these players back from enjoying a bit of finals success. The only reason they don't get a chance to taste it at Perth is because of the disparity in the competition in the first place and this is why the WAFL has become a joke, as Leedy said in the heading, a massive piss take!!

DD,pretty sure Perth haven't been winning/playing finals for nearly 40 years mate.....surely the comp disparity isn't the underlying cause for that as you have suggested?...yeah maybe the last 2 years, but not the last 40!!.....understand the comp is under the pump with this alignment....just can't see WCE and Freo going back to the old days of their players going every where....especially when they are playing these guys serious coin....way more than any other WAFL club could afford to pay......can't believe DD you would want to deprive a fella, who has played his guts out for your club, an opportunity to achieve some success and more money elsewhere.....fark I'd hate to be an employee or student of yours ;)
