Its only a turn of lucky results that meant the eagles didn't get a chance to stack the royals, had the royals won their first final and following the eagles shock early exit, they would of loaded them up , or had the eagles not had that late run and dropped out of the eight then they would of been loaded up early.

Mate I think you will find the VFL(VFA) attendances have collapsed.

Grassy: I think it was still the WAFL which allowed channel 7 to telecast the last quarter of games in 1985. I remember Macnish bursting onto the ball at Bassendean to give us a win -- the first one at the ground since 1977.

You mean the WAFC,Ark?!

The measuring stick in Victoria is the VFA or VFL,but right now,I ain't too concerned about them.

the wafc didn't even exist in 1985, remember it was the WAFL council of presidents that voted to join the VFL.

There was a time when with both local AFL teams out of the finals race a lot of punters would turn their interest to local games, but that seems to have faded some years ago, now once they are out of the race people casually follow the remaining AFL games on TV or drift away towards summer altogether.

EP and Peel leave the comp? or go alone, meaning top ups could be attracted to these two clubs....money always talks eh?......
Peel and EP only get the ES recruits and all local boys go back to original clubs?....
Increase quota for finals eligibility?.....
Subi have points/ recruiting restrictions?
The points system for the next year is based upon the ladder the preceding year(disregarding Peel/EP) thus bottom WAFL club gets more points to play with and so on up to the top WAFL club who gets reduced points....but they make create tanking for points perhaps?.....
