BH There was nothing wrong with the old system it worked fine, but not for the AFL clubs it would seem. As for 1986, unfortunately a no vote would have only delayed the obsession for a national competition. Don't forget both EP and WP foolishly applied to join the VFL in the early 1980s, and we must not forget, along similar lines, that the Adelaide Crows only exist because PA had attemptted to join the AFL.

Over to you PFC Board and Marty.

to be perfectly honest grassy I'd prefer Subi to develop from within rather than recruit someone like Troppo. we currently have Bogensperger, Walters and co running around in the twos who have a lot of upside. I'm not sure if Troppo contacted Subi or vice versa but let's look in our own backyard first.

Don't know if he has a Manager or not,but being a Marquee player at Perth(in my eyes anyway),I believe he would have a Manager getting in his ear.Even if he doesn't,why do his recent statements sound like a script written by a Manager?

I'm sure he's his own man,but come on Aiden. We have faith in you mate. With you at Lathlain,we are a better chance to play Finals Footy. We'd like you to be part of the great times returning to the Demons! ;)

There is definitely room in our salary cap and points for him to come to Subi, with Kitch possibly leaving at the end of this season he would be the perfect replacement. As we've seen in the past players have taken smaller offers to come to Subi with the hope of playing finals and being in the spotlight for AFL recruiters. But as BC said, I would rather us work with what we've got than recruit.

Freezin: What is interestting about the PFC players we have had is that, only one, Andrew McDougaull, is/was from Laithlan Park; all the others, as you say, have been Victorians previouslly recruitted by the PFC; one, Webb, was actually kicked out of the club, from all reports, before landing on Subiaco's doorstep.

Absolutely spot on Leedy. Freezin keeps on saying can't hold these players back from enjoying a bit of finals success. DD,pretty sure Perth haven't been winning/playing finals for nearly 40 years mate.....surely the comp disparity isn't the underlying cause for that as you have suggested?...yeah maybe the last 2 years, but not the last 40!!.....understand the comp is under the pump with this alignment....just can't see WCE and Freo going back to the old days of their players going every where....especially when they are playing these guys serious coin....way more than any other WAFL club could afford to pay......can't believe DD you would want to deprive a fella, who has played his guts out for your club, an opportunity to achieve some success and more money elsewhere.....fark I'd hate to be an employee or student of yours ;)

I'd hate to be a soldier with you in command Freezin. You would just wave the white flag and give in to the enemy with the bigger arsenal.

I am sure I don't need to explain to you I am not blaming my clubs entire failings over the last 38 years on Subi or the Eagles and Dockers. But since Subiaco shifted form Subi and got that sweet deal the WAFL competition has become a competition between two or three teams every year. Credit to clubs like SF, Claremont and WP (and Swans in 09) that have managed to steal a flag or two here and there and deny the Lions but even still the Lions have usually been runner up.

And that makes for a boring competition.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

...and yeah Perth have improved and may be a chance to play finals soon and Trops should stay loyal......but hey why didnt Tropiano stick it out at EF because the likes of Dalziell and McGough soon retired after he left?....didnt hear anyone at Perth say "Trops be patient and stay loyal at EF mate...your chance will come".......ones footy career aint a long one remember.....look at Ross Young.....his loyalty to Perth won him a Sandover but not one single finals appearance.....pretty sure players play for team rewards not individual rewards?

Hopefully what Peel is doing now may be a short term good thing......it might open eyes fast and result in the AFL aligned game quota being pushed from a measly 5 to say 10 -12 minimum to play finals....true the WAFL clubs need the AFL money to survive.....just got to tweak it so the likes of Peel or EP dont dominate and keep the playing field even....

......as for Subi and their riches?.....sheet if EF were in their possie, as an EF fan I would be complimenting my off field boys for doing their jobs in terms of securing financial security......and enjoying winning those flags......as every other fan would be thinking.......if not they are farking lying!

"look at Ross Young.....his loyalty to Perth won him a Sandover but not one single finals appearance.....pretty sure players play for team rewards not individual rewards?". Freeze, there lies my point at the top of this thread, with the alignment and the 3rd AFL club in $ubi, players across the competition are limited to Finals success![/b

That's crap SF, WP, Claremont, SD have all won premierships Iit has not been all Subi since they had the cash from Subi Oval..to say Perths failure is all Subis fault is ludicrous.

You won't mind letting go of George(Hampson) then,as I'm sure he's played his Guts out for you over the past 2 years.Maybe he and Schoey have kissed and made up,or maybe he sees South's as far more appealing for his chances of playing in a Premiership Team?

That wouldn't bother you,would it?[/quote]

Thing is Grassy the difference between Trops and Hampson is that the former hasn't tasted success or played finals....whilst the latter has.....I guess with EF just missing out on the finals in last game of the season and with George being injured, might be enough motivation for George to hang around for one more year....as for Trops well....he has busted his gut for two 1/2 years and seen Perth jump from 9th to 9th to 8th spot...not too sure if there is enough motivation for Trops to see things through....hopefully he does for you boys though..

A no vote would of gotten us a far better deal instead of the numpties being sucked into the biggest rip off in sports history, they walked straight into a VFL ambush and got fleeced..3 yrs later the WAFL was bankrupt.

Baz: no doubt about it; the only way we would have got a good deal is if we had of co-operatted with the South Australians, alas impossible at the time.
