Centrals Conference actually starts in year 8 Grump. Talent identified then at Perth, EP and Swans. They put a fair bit of effort into year 8 boys, a lot of effort into year 9 boys and a heap into the year 10 boys - most playing futures.

After year 10 the private school boys that are any good don't play in the central, northern or souther conference any more as their schools don't allow them to.

The year 11 and 12 boys in the conference from this point are pretty well left alone with only a few breaking into the various WAFL colts programs, All identified like I said at an earlier age. This is something that can be improved - some boys only grow late.

Look Perth have had an even worse year than normal and there are some drums beating louder than usual for change. Even DD is open to the idea of an alignment under the right conditions. I think that would be 5 years at a profit of $300K a year and 2 premierships.

If we get our zones rejuvenated and get the Grand Stand done we wont need it.

Start a new team in Armadale - Armadale Hawkes - they can have Gosnells from Perth and Armadale from South Freo and Byford from East Freo and they can be aligned to WC. 

Great for the area, WC can then help this struggling community to do something and have their reserves team

How the fuck did EF get Byford? A club boasting one of the strongest junior and country zones and one of the most drafted WAFL clubs into AFL and they get one of the newest growth areas south of the river? That's fucken bullshit.

Not sure if it has been changed very recently but Byford (Mundijong Centrals FC) was/is in Peel's zone.

All a bit of slap/dash DD, Just throwing out an option for West Coast if they are desperate to align with some WAFL club. I was guessing who has Byford (Just checked - SF). The Idea would be to start a new club and have WC help them out in their formative years.

You guys are kidding yourselves about an alignment. Win two flags? So what? We get every other fan in the WAFL rubbishing that achievement, and rightly so. Bank $1.5m? Again, any success we get from cashing in on an alignment is going to be trashed by other supporters. They would be right. Part of being successful is earning the respect, however grudging, of opposition clubs and fans. Who respects Peel? Who respects EP? I don't, and I couldn't respect Perth if we went down the same path. 

Plus as I said before, the Eagles won't let themselves get into a contract again where the other team has the right to bail out. They are clearly unhappy with the way the stand alone team has worked out. They would not want to be in a position whereby 3-5 years down the track, Perth or any other aligned team pulled out, leaving the Eagles to find another team willing to compromise its integrity, or field a reserves team.  Any alignment would be long term, probably permanent. Make no mistake, an alignment will be the death knell of this club. 

Ted is right about the alignment scenario - it's just bad news and very damaging at the local club level

That’s all good and well for those to say don’t sell your soul to the vultures so long as you are prepared to concede Perth’s zones are the weakest in the WAFL and a redistribution of junior zones and perhaps country zones is required to make it a level playing field in the WAFL.

And that means some or all clubs will have to accept losing some of theirs to Perth and other clubs in a realignment of zones. Are you prepared to accept that? If not then shut up because unless there are some substantial changes then nothing will change and my club will continue to be weak to the advantage of others.

If that can’t happen then I am prepared to align with the Eagles and dominate the WAFL until everyone gets pissed off and starts complaining how unfair it all is.
