accountable to nobody..

That is not true.

It is true. Mick Murray himself said he didn't know $9m went on salaries and he's the minister so how accountable is that?

You sound like that boring public servant who used to big note himself on the Swans board.

Why do you say that? It's pretty clear no one in government had any idea how much was being spent on salaries otherwise this wouldn't suddenly be a revelation to them. Neither the minister or his peons in the department seem to know and Wayne the Defender has said they have regular catch ups for tea an bikkies. So who are they accountable to?

In light of the announcement that, from July, crowds of up to apparently 10k will be allowed at events, is there any further reason to delay the WAFL season until August? Is it a lack of time for players to get match fitness? Will the start date be reviewed, or is August set in stone?

I know who you mean and I can assure you I am not him.
Well I knew how much was spent on Salaries. it is in the Annual report along with many other details of WAFC expenditure which far exceeds the money from the Gov't. The report is sent to all associated parties and by that I mean, all who come under the WAFC umbrella.
For Murray to say he was not aware, means he hasn't read the report.
Not all the WAFC $$ comes from he Gov't.

Spot on TN, but the noise or lack there of coming out of WAFC HQ is comparable to a church mouse.....is anyone of the reported 70 staff supposedly still working at home?

Fair enough and good to hear. I couldn't stand being lectured again on how the world works by that know it all twat.

You are probably on the money about Murray not reading the Annual Report. That looks more credible by the day as he stumbles and fumbles his way to a response to this fiasco.

I still don't understand how it is a fiasco.
The WAFC stood down employees like all other business whose income was going to drop.
They registered their employees for Jobkeeper.
Quite obviously the annual salary figure quoted is not going to be paid as half the staff are either gone or on Jobkeeper.
All that has happened is someone at the WAFC with a bee in their bonnet has leaked information, Big Deal.
Then we get sensationalism about how $$ from the GOV't is spent, yet noone has told me where else the $$ should be spent if not on football programs.
I reiterate the WAFC spends far more $$ on football than what is given by the Govt.
But lets ignore all that so people on here can sensationalise one leaked salary list that is never going to happen now because of the affects of a virus.

So what do you believe what $$ he is on and for how long and don't believe the bullshit about $1000 per hr to coach.
For example, I prepare for seminars etc and when paid if you divide the $$ I receive by the hrs of the presentation the the uninformed would say I get $1200 per hr which totally ignores that i have spent years gathering the knowledge and experience that enables me to deliver the content.
Is that any different to the Coach who is imparting his intellectual property to eager football students, knowledge that he has spent a lifetime acquiring.
Divide the $$ he is paid by the Hrs he has studied the subject and see if that comes out at $1000 per hr. It isn't greed.
