Good on Capes, hope he was speaking on behalf of a united group of club CEO's and Presidents, or was he the only one with the balls to say something that doesn't follow the WAFC blindly.

If we are in Phase 4 by the 18th July there is no reason we cant be playing games with crowds of 2000 with appropriate social distancing.

For mine Sneakers is starting to look a bit silly where according to him it's ok to sit in a packed train to go to work, shop at busy shopping centres and demonstrate along with thousands of others but sitting in the outer at a WAFL game is a no go. Make no mistake, imo he did a terrific job during onset of Covid-19 but it now looks like he's wallowing in the positive polls a bit too much for my liking and he needs to apply the lifting of restrictions evenly.

How the hell does the WAFC justify salaries of this magnitude? Snouts in the trough with Taylor the biggest swine and I hope it kicks off a full review of WAFC's operations as it's letting the WAFL down badly. From The West today...

WA Sport Minister Mick Murray has threatened a review of football’s funding after a WAFL talent manager was suspended for revealing confidential information.

The suspension followed a senior WA Football Commission executive accidentally revealing in an email details of the $9 million paid in annual staff salaries.
The salary list is understood to show that the WAFC pays at least $9 million to its 134 staff with 23 employees getting at least $100,000.

One football identity was estimated to receive $1000 an hour for a part-time position while four staff were paid more than $200,000 a year.
The WAFC received $11.2 million from the State Government last year as part of its annual funding agreement but Murray was concerned that most of it appeared to be spent on staff payments rather than football development.

He will meet the WAFC next week and intends to emphasise the funding conditions, which requires a significant portion to be spent on development.
“It has concerned me for quite a while that the money from the stadium is not getting to the grassroots,” Murray said.

If mentioned sports minister has been "concerned for quite a while", what's his terminology of quite a while?
Why wait until now to threaten to have a review? Why not have one long before this?
One feels this rorting been happening for far too long and his threatened review might just be that. Probably something else they'll all sweep under the lumpy carpet again.

Caroline Wilson said tonight on FC they will be allowing crowds of 1000 at the GABBA and Gold Coast are in discussion about allowing similar crowds there.

A good move, over to you Sneakers.

Spot on, the government has fallen asleep at the wheel. What a colossal waste of money- while grassroots and WAFL clubs are bleeding. Time for a change at the top of the WAFC

Not only that, I read somewhere the rejigged VFL is likely to restart before the WAFL. Ridiculous

BC, it now becomes evident why the WAFL has had minimal promotion over the years and as you $ubi people know more than others that GF day is now a shambles regarding pre game entertainment etc.

It looks like the VFL will start before we do, the NRL is already underway, The AFL kicks off on Thursday...with no footy being played in WA what the f*ck has the WAFC actually been doing over the last couple of months to justify their over-inflated salaries?
