According to Haggers: 9 team competition. Play each other once for eight game season. Final four finals. Total payments per game players and officials to be capped at $6000. No spectators allowed.

I could live with that.

Townsend said on 6PR last night possible mid-July start. Some clubs not so keen due to financial challenges.

Surely crowds would have to be allowed in before the WAFL season will get started?
Otherwise it would be pointless imho.

Some good suggestions been put forward previously. Going to be interesting to see which direction is taken. With WA only having 3 mild cases so far in May, the mentioned return date could be very likely.

I’m with BH,surely the WAFL has to play in front of crowds before it can go ahead.

An 8 game season with a final four is ridiculous.
If it has to go ahead play 8 games and just hand out a cash prize to the best performed team.

If we can’t have crowds surely one of the tv networks can jump on board, play double headers so the tv broadcaster only has to cover two venues.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Stage 3 allows for Community Contact Sport to be played, and that will be on the go in a few weeks, Stage 4 is pretty much a full relaxtion with some limitations, so I can see the WAFL being able to start in July no problem, but I reckon it will be with crowds albiet smaller.

A lot of the clubs don't sound to convinced about the viability of playing for financial reasons.

It might be the case that it would be cheaper to run the games crowd free and not pay staff , grounds are barely breaking even with a decent crowd never mind with micro crowds.

I guess it could pan out that crowds gravitate to the WAFL on the prospect it being the only live footy in the state until the two AFL teams return from their hubs in the east. It makes no sense to play to empty grounds imo when it would be safer going to a WAFL match than going to a crowded shopping centre.
