just goes to show the govt priorities - their own finances and big businesses, not important - community sport

....And as we've all seen, this damn virus is much more prevalent, dangerous and transmitted much easily with an indoor situation!!
As sad as it is to say, just look at the deceased persons from the nursing home over east whom are stuck inside all the time!
If the Wafl clubs are worried about the crowded bar scenario - either close the bloody thing or ask people not to congregate there. Fence it off so people could line up to be served, then space tables apart or people can go outside.
Or is that too simple.

Spot on MO & WAG.
It simply defies logic from the McGowan Government.
They have done a great job in restricting the virus spread in WA but with hardly any cases here for at least a month now it is just grandstanding politics to continue this no sporting crowds policy past the end of June.

Agree with all on this...with virtually zero communal transmission, only a handful of active cases and closed interstate and overseas borders it makes no sense at all to have most things shut down. After all his good work, I think Sneakers enjoys basking in the glory a bit too much and it's getting to a point now where that is starting to work against him especially in light of various medical experts saying it's time to release restrictions even more.

You guys obviously don't work in public health I take it.

I see Gladys has bitten the bullet and from 1 June it's now 50 people allowed in pubs. Will this start a bidding war between the states. Who loves Federation?

Then someone’s f....d up. Eagles are not fielding a team so only 9 teams and we play each other once.

I wonder if they are anticipating we’ll be able to have crowds by August 1? Otherwise why such a late start?

I’d say the late start so GF is a week before AFL GF, but also in the hope of getting crowds
9 rounds is because it’ll be 8 games plus a bye

Two things,
firstly as often happens I am not in agreeance with most of you abt sneakers and his prolonged strategy, me I would rather be safe than sorry. Given it is NSW, Victoria and humpty dumpty & the owner of the worst being so vocal it only reinforces that he is on the right path to wait until the situation is much better all over the country and not just in the 5 'minor' states.

Second point is that we have the game back and I reckon by the horses birthday we will have crowds of a limited nature and the delay is so that they can get the details right abt bars, crowds etc.

Be thankful that we have it back!
