Struggling to see why the banks of Leederville, Lathlain park, and Moss St etc are so dangerous to public health.

The best days of the season are going to waste. Mid to Late June with crowds makes more sense.

And didn't Premier Daglish not save Subi from expulsion from the Wafl by granting them the land for Subi oval?

that and the WAFLs low profile mean its off the radar for him and the ALP.

At least Barnett was a pro WAFL bloke.

That is quite true as recently at one of his daily Covid-19 press conferences a female reporter (Good on you young lady) asked him when could we expect the WAFL to be started he seem startled that someone would ask him like he had no idea what the WAFL was and then his reply was "That is not the first time I have been asked that question".
Although in fairness he was probably taken aback someone would ask about OUR Football League first over that Vic centric comp!
Coming from NSW & living in Rockingham (Peelmantle's zone) for all of his WA days of 30 years or so probably wouldnt help his knowledge but you would have thought he would have done a little research on WA's 135yo Premier State Based Sporting Competition?!
The likes of former Premier's Scaddan, Brand, O'Connor etc would be turning in their grave at the lack of WAFL knowledge whilst more recently Gallop, Carpenter & Barnett all had a love of and close links to the WAFL!

Yes I saw that he seemed stunned that people were talking about it, as it was like ‘a pink elephant!! I just saw one too!!’ And he called it the warfl not the wafl.

Piss poor leadership from wafl people that this situation has arisen where premier doesn’t know about it. How many games have peel invited him to?

Maybe Mick Murray has some say in all this? After all he is the Minister for Sport and I am sure he would be up to speed with the WAFL.

Like others I think the risk of contracting COVID 19 from sitting outside in a WAFL game is so close to zero that its not worth thinking about. They just need to avoid crowded bars and members areas. No point in having a season if you deprive the clubs of their major source of revenue. Have a 9 round season with 4 weeks of finals so around 13 weeks. If they start in late July the season will finish around the mooted time of the AFL grand final ( late October)

I notice that JT said in the West today that clubs may actually end up playing 10 games instead of 8 ( the extra two would be a 2nd game against the two teams that finished in the same section of the ladder, so in Swans case there would be an extra game V East Perth and EF) He also mentioned the prospect of televised Wednesday night games which would avoid the AFL telecasts and having each team to play 1 home game at MRP. All to be discussed tomorrow I assume.

If crowds are not allowed at the Wafl matches, one has to be asking why not?

Today we heard social distancing is 'no longer required' on public transport in Western Australia. Fairly certain the transport minister actually said it's not necessary to stay 1.5 metres apart. I think it yesterday or the day before that the big wig at qantas came out and said the same thing. Doesn't want social distancing on their aircraft.
All sounds odd to me!
Crowds at Wafl matches are not large in any-ones language.
Can anyone say what the difference is

WAG: in the case of Quantas it simply to do with money, as he wants as many punters as possible. In relation to the government, its rationale for the policy has been inconsistent from the beginning. There is no justification, as you, and everybody have suggested above, for banning crowds at WAFL games. If they are a wee bit worried about it, put a restriction on the number allowed in the bars at one time.

yep, continued mixed messages - we can all pack into a bus or train and shopping centres but we cant go and watch sport in the fresh air.
just goes to show the govt priorities - their own finances and big businesses, not important - community sport
