One further point I will make following on from the WA state election, Morrison continues to be tone deaf with respect to his responses to the claims of sexual abuse and violence against women.  After question time in the House of Reps today, Albanese moved a motion to suspend standing orders to allow a debate on this.  After a few minutes of speaking Dutton moved that he no longer be heard.  An absolutely despicable and gutless action especially in the context of how many times Abbott moved similar motions and not once to my knowledge was he gagged by the Labor government.
42 the longer the marketing bloke is in public office the more apparent it becomes how much of a deadset flog of a bloke he is!
Although he would probably have to consult Jenny to get confirmation!
Don't worry, Jenny already knows.

I believe I have been fairly even handed in my analysis of the WA state election with only a modicum of gloating.  Similarly, my extrapolation of the WA election result going into the federal election.

I think that Morrison's non-appearance in WA during the election campaign won't be forgotten by West Aussies and will hurt the Liberals in that election here.

One of the online bookies has the current Victorian opposition leader favoured to win the leadership spill.  If that is the case it hardly enhances the Liberals chances at their next election.  The next NSW election is not due until 25th March, 2023 so it is far too early to know what will happen in that particular election.

Morrison should have attended the rally outside Parliament House today.  The fact he didn't reflects poorly on him.  Just another example of poor judgment and lacking political courage.  He should have visited WA during our election campaign.

Who can remember Gough Whitlam attending an angry farmers' rally at Forrest Place in Perth in, from memory, 1974?  These examples and Morrison's Hawaii holiday during the bushfires accumulate when it comes to negative feelings toward Morrison.

Agree with your comments on NSW Southy...how our Gladys and Brad "Health" Hazzard are still in office is beyond me.
The only reason these vipers are still in power is the Pandemic mate - and we are continually feeling the effects of their disgraceful breaches , and to emphasise this we are seeing yet another one blowing up
The corruption has reached an unprecedented level and the back door deals are everywhere it's been revealed
It's also evident the opposition leader is John Cleese in a very clever disguise and once she goes old Horseface is in serious trouble

From my perspective I found it extraordinary that there was a complete lack of attention by the Liberals to challenge the failure by the McGowan government to implement strategies that would enable the Government to cope with a fresh outbreak had it occurred.

McGowan had over seven months to get this into place but when WA had the second outbreak it became abundantly clear that the Government had done nothing to put adequate strategies in place. These included:
(1) Putting sufficient COVID testing centres on standby
(2) Addressing the obvious Hotel Security issues
(3) Challenging the “Health Advice” that seemed to change dailyTo his credit McGowan played the safe card with no alternative strategy. Just close the Borders.

The fact that not one member of the Liberal Party was able to expose this charade absolutely amazed me.As an Australian first and a West Australian second I believe as West Australians we have a lot to answer for in respect to our lack of empathy for our fellow Australians during the period of the pandemic.

I was however impressed with McGowan’s comments after this historic victory. For the most part this was not reported by the left wing media being ABC, SBS and Channel7.Hopefully I have this right but McGowan’s comments were along the lines…"I have a message to the Federal Labor Party. If you present policies that are appealing to middle Australia there is no reason that you cannot be successful in seats that would otherwise be considered unattainable".

The Federal Labor Party, to me at least, is dominated by the LBGT/Transgender, Climate Change, and MeToo movement. If you want to appeal to the centre, rather than the left extreme, then I believe Labor has a real chance at the next Federal Election. If you don’t then you have no chance.

The Federal Government is about keeping our nation safe and in good hands so that when the going gets tough we know we will be OK.

Most rational Australians understand that and would never vote Labor whilst the alarmists Me too and Transgender are dominating the commentary coming from their side.

The big concerns for us all should be China and the reality that this rogue nation will never concede their position, whether it is on Climate Change, human rights abuses or the National Sovereignty of other countries in their region.

Brilliant post HE. I don't agree with everything you've said but you've expressed your views very eloquently.

Did Albo, Chalmers, Plibersek, Wong etc... attend?

Yeah well now we have another liberal supporter who is happy to trot out the usual tripe about the labour  side of politics.

Trouble is for me is that there is a grain of truth in parts of it but the biggest truth is that federally the left is still joined at the hip with union left and doesn't understand like Sneakers has that this is the biggest change they need to make. I am not sure that tolerance of others genders, persuasions, beliefs or similar differences is bad unless of course if you are bigoted or afraid of difference.

As for for the suggestion that Sneakers has failed in the preparations/strategies for managing another outbreak of covid suggests that the person is the chairman of the AMA and hasn't he been right, not!

As for being Australian first and Western Australian second, if that is the case go live on the east coast where it is them first and Australia second and WA a long tenth!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended
