Interesting that Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand, all countries with low vaccination rates like us, are all suffering from the same malady that NSW find themselves in and struggling to counter. These self same countries all boasted that they had the issue under control but .............. . 

Seems that this is going to bite even with governments best intentions.

None Thursday in Victoria, 68 I think today in NSW including a heap that are still out in the community and 3 in QLD and concerns in SA that it may have leaked in a hotel quarantine with guests on the same floor all opening their doors. News this morning said all guests on that floor will need 14 days more quarantine, however some of the guests have already travelled interstate.

Victoria will likely go into a snap lockdown later this afternoon from midnight tonight

I reckon it will only be another day or two before the borders close.

Credit where it's due but think McGoo got it pretty well right this time closing borders with the eastern seaboard when he did given they have rising numbers which don't look like dropping any time soon.

That will only work when 70-80% of the population are vaccinated, NSW has a number of young people in ICU some on ventilators so the idea that it's not that big a deal for younger people is crap. This Delta variant takes no prisoners regardless of age. Once we get to that level of vaccination, hopefully by the end of the year, we can start to go down the same track as the UK and USA and just deal with the inevitable hundreds, maybe thousands of cases per day that will result. All of the vaccines are only about 60% effective against Delta

I would put a big amount of money on the young people you are talking about having a whole heap of co morbidities.

What the UK is planning to do shortly is in my opinion totally reckless.  I hope for their sake I am wrong but given what is happening around the world it would appear that I won't be.

Does anyone think that the Sydney partial lockdown is working?
