The enlightened societies 42 are the ones that have very little to do with the left side of politics as in those ones that say all animals are created equal but some are more equal than others. 

So countries that aren’t Cuba, Vietnam, North Korea, Venezuela, Cambodia (Pol pot and his mates hardly get a mention)  and of course all the democratic run (tent city) states in the US.

Do enlightened societies require 5 and 6 year old kids to have active gun shooter drills like they do in the USA? 

Of course they don’t. They’re very tough on crime and therefore there is little of it.

Listening to Gold Standard Gladys this morning, apparently it's everyone elses fault, who would have thought. Sure the vax rollout has been crap up until now, but her lack of early action is the main reason NSW, Vic and SA are in lockdown, an immediate hard lockdown would have seen this outbreak under control by now.

SS I don't know whether you have access to Sky News Australia or the Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun.  If you do what do you think of their commentary re lockdowns?

Ever with COVID running rampant in NSW the NSW government is talking about easing some of the restrictions in some areas Friday week.

Swan I don't bother listening or watching their right wing crap, it's so biased and the same at the other end of the spectrum with much of the left wing commentary that comes out of the ABC. We are so poorly served by most of the media in Australia.
