BC it ain't flash by any standard, I have my first english one and have to wait til mid sept for the next. My understanding was that the delay was abt numbers of doses available hence the lengthy wait, there is supposed to be a gap but that does seem excessive.

It seems that the national cabinet is really just a national publicity opportunity and look at me process. They really should out source the whole process to a logistics company to do!

Grump it was always mentioned as a 12 week gap, we get our 2nd jab after 11 weeks as we plan to travel (fingers crossed) in the 12th week, so I think there's some flexibility. Dont think there is a rigid medical reason for 12 weeks, I think I heard down to 8 weeks in Europe, so you may be right regarding the limited availability, until September when the big shipments of Phizer are supposed to arrive.

Grump I'm not a medico but it's my understanding the gap between shots one and two is about efficacy. If you leave it for 12 weeks the effectiveness of the vaccine is marginally higher than if you get your second after say 8 weeks. In saying that, I agree the rollout has been poor....mitigated to some extent by the EU withholding 3 million doses earlier in the year which we were counting on but the federal government has had 18 months to get the forward planning right. We're now being left behind by the rest of the advanced world which is disappointing and costly to the economy. Overseas papers like the Financial Times are having a field day at our expense which must be a concern to ScoMo and Hunt as it is a clear indication that the rest of the world has passed us by.  I'm also surprised by the take up rate here in WA in particular.  At last count, we had only injected 78% of doses received into the state with the rest going to waste.  McGoo can't complain about the Feds too much when we're electing not to get jabbed.  It could be we're a bit cautious about the AZ vaccine but even still, 1 in 5 vaccines going down the sink is not ideal.

Victoria now rooted. 8 new cases. Border now shut to anyone coming into WA or returning from Victoria. Not a hard border like NSW but required to do the full 14 days isolation like McGoo should have done with NSW much earlier in the piece.

The AFL bubble in Melbourne just went pop. Could be AFL finals and a GF at Optus yet.

WA Today has it down the side of the main page DD.

Thanks BC that’s a beauty, I’ve saved that to my favourites. 9.69% fully vaccinated and 27.19% had the first dose is piss poor.

According to Credlin (SAD Skynews after dark) there is a block of flats in Sydney under 24 hour guard.

Better late than never Swan, it's a hot spot, a reflection of the fact that those within just wont abide by the rules.

I guess the encouraging thing is we're not talking huge numbers by global standards. A couple of hundred in NSW and a dozen or so in Vic is the stuff of dreams in other parts of the world. At least it's manageable until we get vaccinated in big numbers.

I should have included the suburb.  It is Bondi.
