Bazza I guess SF had hindsight from their earlier misadventure to stand strong v the alignment...but I guess to a certain degree are SF any different to Peel or EP with their alignment adventures....if SF had won that 1999 GF v WP would SF fans not of celebrated it?

I was talking about the land mark changes that ALL clubs got a vote on . Entry of Eagles, Peel and Dockers, but your right accepting the host deal in 1999 was a mistake, was it a vote though entered by all clubs? don't think it was. As far as the recent alignment goes, when you have a starting point which is supposed to be total opposition and then scabs start breaking ranks behind closed doors - what hope have you got.

were you involved in South aligning with the Dockers ?
or were you mysteriously not on the board at that time ?

No not for sure. The initial word at the EP town hall meeting was several other clubs wanted it. The truth I don't know.

My understanding is that the WAFC were contacted by more clubs than just EP and Peel re being aligned.

LB: That is right we don't know -- they hushed up. Thanks for answerring
Baz: I heard there were three: Peel, PFC, EP -- this was on 6PR.

I think the following would have been against:

SD
SF
WP
CL
EF

PFC? Subiaco?

The PFC are now firmlly in the no camp which is a good thing.

there were whispers Neil Randall was keen but he was knee capped at board level and there also would have been a general revolt of members...so not really sure just how far Subi's interest actually progressed. not far I would think as an AFL club could do worse than align itself to Subi at WAFL level and that obviously didn't happen.

Can only speak for myself Freez, I took the position that the club could shove whatever they were chasing with the alignment to Fremantle at that time where the sun don't shine. I was very glad to see the Garlic munchers beat us the GF that year.

Sadly I did not see any vote put to the club's membership at that time it was purely a position taken by the board at that time lead by then President Terry Dean. Terry was a very green president at that time and guess who he had just taken the reigns from? yep you guessed it Ric Gloede.
