That list seems to back up the Perth supporters argument.

42, that may be case, but on the plus side think of all the time and money Perth saves by not having to develop these players as youngsters....simply bide your time and through sheer weight of numbers of talented rich kids kicking a footy in those EF and Cl zones, Perth gets 18+ year-old footballers looking to either kick start, reinvent or finish their careers in the red n black.....win win for all concerned I reckon....EF & Cl keep their fruit laden  junior zones and Perth reap the benefits of some left over fruit falling their way....not the first or last time a premiership is won by a team not full of local zone boys.....Subi has done it for years, SD on 2010, EP in 2000-2, EF in 98....Perth just need to get the right non local boys....they have made some piss poor choices in the past....Morton x3, White, Reimers, Graham etc etc....

Swan I'm going to put forward the controversial view that football now is investing in so called "good citizens" instead of the most talented.

And yes, I get it.......the drop off from the lower economic areas will be greater but I still must insist that those kids are worth investing in even if only 20% stick with it through the pathways/levels......within that 20% may be a champion worth taking a chance on....an African kid or Indigenous fella....

instead they go 100% for less talented kids from a so called "good background" often

I've had this argument with many people over the years
There is probably a degree of truth in that.  There are many challenges for indigenous players and some need more support to help them achieve their potential.  Does anyone really think that the central control by the WAFC of juniors has improved the overall situation?  Speaking of that support, personally, I don't think that Gerard Neesham gets the recognition he deserves with his work at the Clontarf Foundation.

I would add that we are picking athletes rather than footballers.

I think that there is so much emphasis on getting drafted that when a young player is not drafted a number of players consider they have failed.  I can recall a player from Swans, Gavin Outridge, who was struggling at colts' level but through persistence and perseverance broke into our 1982 league team and played in our winning GF that year.  I am not sure that this scenario is likely today.

How many players are drafted at a very young age, move interstate and after a year or two in the AFL system de-listed who are then lost to footy?

Exactly what is the WAFC doing?

That's a good question 42, not too sure in the last 48 odd pages on this topic that question has even been answered mate....hopefully someone can soon....until now those Cl, EF and EP top ups will have to suffice.....

Touch wood the PFC wake up from their well documented development slumber then STT and start engaging with their junior clubs....well atleast the SPJFC....a little birdie keeps  saying the PFC has been asleep quite heavily at the development wheel down that way for the past 6-7 years....you snooze you lose I guess....as shown by the apparent lack of footy talent south of the maligned Albany Highway.

I guess if Perth go 3/0 at Shark Park tomorrow 58, we may get Side B to this record of STT's mate.....fingers crossed in all honesty we do, even if means the Perth boys giving the EF boys shite for the next few weeks...

Yeah "engaging" does sound a tad millennial mate....apologies for that.....not sure Birdman is of  kiwi descent mate....must ask him next time....as for your relationship with that Shetland Pony of yours....geez Black Caviar was a freak of nature mate, once in a generation me thinks....never see the likes of it again....kind of like Buddy Franklin....once in a generation and the never to be repeated again.....especially out the PFC junior zones.....
