Could you video his response and provide a full transcript to prove accuracy?

I’m not interested in you posting a chinese whispers version of an alleged conversation.

If you think that the WAFC running talent pathways means that Perth doesn’t need to be active in its District by getting out and watching Junior & PSA footy and engaging with clubs and schools you’re only going to fall further and further behind other WAFL clubs.

Good luck with your approach.

It seems to me that the more the WAFC has got involved in junior footy up to and including at WAFL colts' level the greater the disconnect between juniors and WAFL clubs.

Did I state that he was critical of the PFC?

I’m being critical of PFC’s engagement with clubs and players in their zone and I base part of my criticism on the comments made at the WAFC inquiry.

If your club put half as much time into engaging with clubs in its district as you do posting on here, this thread wouldn’t even be a discussion point.

Mr BURROWS: You look at the parents and that down at the junior club, particularly kids in the back end of youth football who are getting ready to maybe take that next step to see if they are good enough, they go, “Perth? Never seen them; who are they?” Equally, people at Perth are going, “Oh, shit, who’s out there?” People at Perth ask me, “Who goes and watches PSA football?” Well, I do but I would be about the only person. Is there any relationship? There is none.

The CHAIR: We talked about the relationship between you and the WAFL club. How long have you been a board member at Perth?

Mr BURROWS: I came on last year.

Need I say more - need ANYONE say more?

For doubters, the full video of SPJFC President Travis Burrows' evidence to the Parliamentary Inquiry  is available at:

Committee Details - Inquiry (parliament.wa.gov.au)

This probably the most damning public evidence, given under oath, of PFC's total lack of commitment to Clubs, Junior and Senior, in it's zone.

By the way StT, I live in Perth's zone (and have done for way more than 40 years), am part of a Senior Community Club (that PFC doesn't bother to communicate with) and have been a Swans supporter (and former Member) for almost 60 years.

To quote Tiger Tales "If your club put half as much time into engaging with clubs in its district as you do posting on here, this thread wouldn’t even be a discussion point."

Again I’ve not stated that Mr. Burrows criticised Perth FC, just that there was large criticism of Perth FC during the Inquiry.

Go read the transcript again STD, not between the lines - just the actual words used - I did highlight it in red to try make it easier for you but apparently it’s still too difficult.

Come back to me if you still don’t understand but best you get a good nights sleep you’ve got a big day of lockdown ahead of you tomorrow.

MMM just watched the lions/blues game with a swans player, a wp player, an ep player, and ef player and a p player, seems to be a reasonable spread to me!

Oh and Robertson was VG
Exactly how does a player playing in the AFL help the Perth Football Club?
Swan I accept that but the thread author has consistently bleated abt the district issues for his club in comparison to others and yet here have 5 wafl produced players playing at the afl level all recruited in the past 4 years, Adams was a bit longer but ...... !
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Grump, that is just 42's mantra mate....of course any kid playing in the AFL surely is a positive reflection of that player's local club development program....not the be all and end all....but pretty sure all those parties connected through the club would take it as recognition for all the hard work they do ....or in Perth's case apparently don't do.....in getting any player from junior footy to elite footy......actually in this day n age getting any kid to play footy is an achievement it seems....especially south of Albany Highway apparently.

I believe the point that the Perth supporters are making is that there is not the depth within the Perth zone to allow Perth to be competitive with other clubs, such as Claremont, over a period of time.  That is not to say that there is not a small number of quality players that can be drafted to the AFL.  It should be noted that the WAFL clubs receive no financial remuneration for a player drafted to the AFL; only the WAFC receives such remuneration.

Let me make the following points.  Why does the WAFL receive all the remuneration for a WA player drafted to the AFL?  How did the removal of the colts competition from the WAFL clubs help WAFL clubs developing players?   How did the fixturing of colts' games away from WAFL reserves and league games help foster those players' club spirit toward the WAFL clubs?  Has the WAFL takeover of junior football competitions resulted in more junior players playing in the older age groups?

Stt states that there was the disconnection between the colts programme and the WAFL clubs when the WAFC took control of that programme. How long did they have control, 2 or 3 years I'm not sure but the WAFL clubs had control of their colts prior to that so I cant see that a few years away from the clubs control has resulted in Perths 40 years in the wilderness. Also we all know that in each clubs colts squad there may be 30 + players, only a very small number will go in the AFL draft so that leaves 25 + colts players looking for opportunities, one would expect the clubs would have kept in very close contact with the group that don't make AFL as there will be plenty who are keen to pursue a WAFL career. If you ignored your colts during the WAFC's control period you did so at your own risk.
