Hey La Hincha how about a Freo take over of Peel. Then we can carve up Peels zone.
Swans and East Perth can take there south west areas. And Perth can take the rest of Peels zone.

Clubs closer to Perth footy club are your only logical option, can’t pick and choose clubs nowhere near your ground.
Give Rockingham back to South and make some adjustments from South

LH I think you're right. It makes sense to strengthen Perth ultimately at the expense of Peel and Claremont.

Claremont obviously have more than they need to be successful and  Peel receive Freo draft pics every year. If they get too weak, we can raise their number eligible to play each week. Peel therefore remains mostly a Mandurah club. Maybe they could be renamed Mandurah.

It's worth doing this to ensure Perth is more successful since it's zone is an important part of the Perth football landscape.

Agreed LH there must be a state junior in that big country zone.

Well, all these issue do largely go back to the invention of Peel.

Apart from the Claremont, we must not lose any part of our zone ever which is always adhered to.

But hopefully at the end of this thread we can come up with clear cut zone changes that are fair and unbiased.

I'm already proposing that Perth receive Kelmscott, Armadale and Roleystone JFC's from South. Mundijong JFC eventually also.

Forrestdale JFC from South Frem to East Frem.

In return South receive Safety Bay JFC and Rockingham JFC from Peel. Thus three clear suburban pathways opened for those 3 clubs heading South in a straight line.

In return Peel receive Ongerup FL country zone from Claremont and we find an extra country club or two for South..

Try to give SD an extra country club or two....haven't figured that out yet.

Me, you and STT go watch the 4 Perth country leagues and see if we don't find state junior quality players. I bet we would.

North Beach JFC goes from Claremont to Subiaco.

Every issue with skewed zones goes back to Mr Dorrington and that ridiculous decision to call a football club Peel - we once again saw the real Mandurah last year and we saw another pay rort
With those very good zones
It's pretty apparent the Vic comp mob will have to be given a stand-alone side and Mandurah is pissed off finally - well apparent to most sensible folk anyway mate
And if we are talking return of traditional zones then Rockingham & Mandurah heads back into our hands once more along with Pinjarra & Waroona maybe even Harvey if Subiaco & Swans don't get the return as before

I wonder how many teams GG have 42?..can't think of many WAFL clubs colts sides playing players from GG  bar SD...would love to see some % breakdowns from other PSA schools to see who plays where as well,...I know EF do well out of Aquinas....have done of late....

Also be interested into see which Country areas consistently win the annual Country champs in league and colts....definitely not the Great Northern League.....always seems to be that EP, SD and Peel area just south west of Perth.....
Cant find the full list of those Old Guilfordians that have gone on to play WAFL but this was a list of their "notables" and a real mix compared to the likes of Hale, Scoth & Christ Church which would be 80% Claremont I would hazard a guess!-

Marcus Adams- SD & WP (Foots & Bris)
Corey Adamson- EP & SU (WCE)
Simon Beasley- SD (Foots)
Matt Clape- EP (WCE & Carl)
Jordan Clark- CL (Geel)
Trent Cooper- SD & Peel (Frem AFLW Coach)
Jim Davies- SD & CL (ex WAFL President)
Bruce Duperouzel- CL (StK & Foots)
Travis Edmonds- SD (Frem)
David Ellard- SD (Carl)
Tom Everett- EP & EF (WA)
Zac Fisher- P (Carl)
Cruize Garlett- P & Peel (NM)
Dalton Gooding- CL (ex WCE President)
Paul Gow- SD (Foots)
Derek Kickett- WP, CL & SU (NM, Ess & Syd)
Larry Kickett- EP & CL
Karl Langdon- SU (WCE)
Zac Langdon- CL & WCER (GWS & WCE)
John McGuire- EP & P
Luke Miles- SD (StK)
Gerald Mitchell- EF
Clancee Pearce- SD (Frem)
Alex Rance- SD (Rich)
Gary Scott- SF
Sam Taylor- SD (GWS)
Greg Walker- SD
Stewart Walters- SD

So yes a few SD boys but a fair share for other WAFL clubs as well which you would expect as GGS has a large proportion of their students come from the country of which many wouldnt be in SDFC zone.
On the other hand the amount of players SDFC have got from the likes of Hale, Scotch, Christ Church, Wesley or Aquinas * I could count on one hand in my 40+ years of following Swans-

Michael Clark- SD & SF (Coll) Hale
Stephen O'Reilly- SD (Geel, Frem, Carl) Aquinas
Blaine Boekhorst- SD & EF (Carl) Wesley
Jiah Reidy- SD Aquinas

*We have had a few Trinity boys over the years.

Some current WAFL League players that were Old Guilfordians include-

Josh Cipro- SD
Brad Fullgrabbe- EP ex SD
Griffin Logue- Peel ex SD (Frem)
Durak Tucker- EF ex Peel (Syd)
Marshall Jones- P
Austin Davis- P
Jarrod Cameron- WCER ex SD (WCE)
Brayden Spackman- SD

Apologies to those I may have missed.

With the resources we have at our disposal we do ok mate especially in our metro zone but we could always do better (like every WAFL club bar Claremont it would seem) especially in our remote country zone.
But it isnt easy and there can be a lot of travel required (which requires time, effort, money etc) for both young players involved and the WAFL club staff, it certainly helps to have trusted, respected club people in those areas to identify them first.

Having said that the afl clubs pretty much all have a zillion recruiting/list management staff and yet quite often still get it wrong at the drafts.

As an 'outsider' I reckon that Swans do as well as anyone club given the zone and distances involved. They are consistent in the levels of performance on field, consistent the skills and great when it comes to attitude in the development process upto and including colts.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended
