In regards to Claremont colts  making the finals 40 times in the  last 45 years surely that is more than an anomaly?  Have they had consistently good administrators while we have had consistently bad ones over that period?  Don't think so.
The AFL are so pro equalisation shame the WAFL can't be the same.
As for whether we work our zone properly I think the President should address the issue.

Does our zone need review? The answer is yes.
Is it the sole problem? The answer is no.
Do some Clubs do things differently in their zones? The answer is it appears that some Clubs do.
Does the PFC need to review how they work their zones? The answer is yes.
Do the things that some Clubs do in their zones provide different outcomes? The answer is it appears so.
Does the PFC need to help themselves to solve the problem and not solely rely on outside influences? The answer is yes.

Have yet to hear we've received the "Sorry we haven't been to see you for 10+years" email or the "Sorry we only invited any of you to PFC twice in 10+ years" email nor even the "Well try and do better" email.

I hear you want a better zone (which I guess means give us some of EFFC, SDFC or SFFC's zones?), but lack of resources likely means you're incapable of servicing any additional Clubs you may gain, given you don't (can't?) service the Clubs you have in your zone now?

It's hard - I know it's hard - and I know how bloody hard we have to work to stay viable - and we don't have a FRACTION of the resources you do, but we keep trying (and succeeding).

You can keep hoping that players will come to you, but the reality is that like us, you have to go out and find them - and your zoned Clubs (ALL your zoned Clubs) are the best place to start looking.

Or you can keep hoping that the WAFC will magically give you a 'better' zone and that all those players will just come to you with minimal effort on your behalf. They won't just come to you either, but by all means, keep hoping.

What has the WAFC done in 2021 to help your club?   More generally what has the WAFC done to increase the number of players transitioning from juniors to seniors?

Yeah just had a look at those WA U/17 and U/19 squads. Apparently more will be added to the U/19's as the colts season unfolds.

Claremont 8
East Fremantle 8
East Perth 8
South Fremantle 5
Swan Districts 5
Subiaco 5
West Perth 5
Peel 3
Perth 0

Ouch!
LaH would you say QED after the content of that post?

Maybe not - I thought contributors to this thread agreed that the other non coastal zones (EP and Swans) were terrible too. If that’s right, how have they improved their numbers?

I wish I knew the answer for Perth mate. Maybe somebody from the outside needs to come in, have a look around the metro/country and provide some alternative ideas.

I would have thought at least one player might have been unearthed from their country clubs.

Maybe even with stats and numbers there is no definitive answer.
Swans and East Perth have a good mix of older and newer growth suburbs. Even older suburbs like Balllajura and Noranda are attractive to younger families and they have the north eastern growth areas from Caversham all the way up to the Vines/Ellenbrook/Averly. Just looking on our Demons Districts page we have just 12 junior footy clubs. I think we should have Forrestfield, Canningvale and Kelmscott.

When was the last time a comprehensive review of zones done displaying every clubs metro and country zones and their wish list and the gains and losses like this one in 2003? The file is too large to attach here but I have posted the link and you can download it from there.
