Was it Dr Tom Stannage in the mid 1980s?
We are long overdue to have representation at HQ actually pushing our case/barrow otherwise we will continually be shafted by these Golden Triangle dwellers in their pinsuits looking after the interests of their own clubs West of the Burswood Peninsula!

I agree.
We tried to have Howard Dawson be the chair of the Presidents Assoc, but we lost the vote and they appointed Ric Gloede.
Former Pres. David Parkinson nominated for the WAFC as did former Director Rosair,
Their nominations didn't even get to the vote stage as the way it is set up the commissioners get to decide who is voted on.
The purple circle will remain, that is how Dorrington became a Commissioner and Randall and Kicket stayed so long as token WAFL and Indigenous reps respectively.
It is akin to letting John McEnroe doing his own line calls.

None of those blokes were ever a chance, you don’t nominate for those positions unless you are sure of getting appointed so no surprise.

FMD Dorrington?
The bloke is directly responsible for the abomination that is the Peel introduction & Westar Rules  the bloke is a cancer to WA Footy whilst the other 'chap' I saw rock up to a SD Presidents Luncheon last year and leave straight after his free feed and before even the first bounce of the League game.

Good on Vic park Council, the bloated Eagles coffers can easily cover these rates, apart from the Wirrapunda Foundation, what public service does the Eagles facility provide, what public access is there to there facilities. If there is neither then no reduction of rates should apply.

I couldn’t believe the Eagles were only paying 6 grand in rates! I pay nearly 3 grand a year on my 550sqm block and I’m not even in Perth! How shire rates are calculated is one of the great mysteries of taxation.

Yes apparently a new soccer centre to be built in Queens Park. And this being done in the "hope" Australia wins its bid for the Women's World Cup in 2023. No-one has yet mentioned if Australia's bid is unsuccessful, what happens then?
Meanwhile on the other side of the fence, the Wafl blunders along with no positivity!

According to the 9 News report I just watched, soccer is the largest participation sport in WA.

Do you think a state government needs to take notice of such facts?

This may be news to you JS but soccer has been the highest participation sport in my whole lifetime here in WA and Aus(40+).....there are a lot of Mums who dont want little Johnny or Jilly playing rough, tough footy (Auskick mind you) until they are old enough to think for themselves!
I wonder what the %'s of participation numbers per sport are past the age of say 15?
