I’ll back the info I was given in considering they’ve actually seen the document and know plenty about the WAFL colts and State 18s Program - I certainly haven’t seen the document.

I used the description I was given and threw in allegedly because again I haven’t seen the document.

Have you seen the document TF as you’ve said the Part time contract is $125k? Your calcs are questionable particularly for this season but agree with you it’s a ridiculous amount of money, that you’d expect a full time role to be receiving.

You can see why WAFL clubs who have had to cut back, have staff stood down etc were so infuriated at what other WAFC staff were getting paid - many in roles that need to be questioned

As you’re in the know did you want to confirm The other info that someone has been stood down pending an investigation into the leak?

Surely much more of the 11 mil could go directly to clubs, to school footy teams, to putting the wafl in the public eye, to connecting clubs with their local community. Make the clubs a positive for a suburb or area.

The afl is a national comp made for tv. The wafl is about local, live, easy to get to footy. More personal.connected to place. You don't need a lot of staff or fancy programmes and coaching to develop that. The focus should be the clubs, including suburban and country clubs and their connection to the community, not the development of talent for the afl.

That'll happen naturally.

I don't know much about that wafc, but it seems to send a lot on itself, instead.

it is hard to fault the purport of this article.
All this empire building started back in 2011 when control of the junior footy comps was by separate committees funded by the WAFC instead of the funds going to the WAFL clubs to develop the juniors.
The football development officers although housed at WAFL clubs paraded around in WAFC shirts and cars had matching decals.
They were told to represent as WAFC officials and we complained bitterly that the WAFC was an organisation and not a football competition game and the officers should be promoting the WAFL and not the WAFC.
We were told to grow the WAFC brand (like the AFL whuch is a brand not a game) to represent to GOVT a united front for Aussie rules football in WA all in the interests of the empire builders grabbing control of the new stadium, (was never going to happen}
It is then the WAFL clubs lost control of foootball development and any chance of promoting their club to the juniors.
SO yes lets us have a push to gain some control over football.
Give us the money and let each club develop their zone.
Give Ellenbrook back to Swans as we developed it from scratch.
The sad news is that the WAFL clubs are their worst enemies. There is much evidence of WAFL clubs in the past pillaging the juniors money for senior football.
If we go back to the old days then there would need to be better control and firmer KPI's on clubs t make sure teh money is spent for the good of the game.

TRSM who was the last SD person at the WAFC either in a Management role or on the Commission?
Was it Dr Tom Stannage in the mid 1980s?
We are long overdue to have representation at HQ actually pushing our case/barrow otherwise we will continually be shafted by these Golden Triangle dwellers in their pinsuits looking after the interests of their own clubs West of the Burswood Peninsula!

A passionate response but indicative of the core problem. The WAFC used to give the WAFL 10 million bucks every year. 100 million in 10 years and they even bailed out a couple of poorly run clubs as well, Remember PEEL and a couple of other clubs. Didnt Swans have some money issues as well. No wonder it is not trusted by anyone. Ammo footy clubs invest more into local juniors, WAFL clubs do not, investing in development squads is talent development not code development. The time for blaming anyone but yourself is now. I have not seen a single gofundme campaign for any junior or ammo club and they get 0, yes 0 dollars from WAFL clubs, wafc or afl, yet i have seen at least 3 from wafl clubs.

For the WAFL to shine a few dinosaurs entrenched in a couple of wafl clubs need to join a couple of WAFC administrators and get out of the way. They offer nothing other then blame and are empty of solutions other then handouts or bureaucratic Gavin Taylor monotone. Jaded footy relics like myself need to encourage sharper minds to replace the not so SMART.

Only thing wrong with your post is that you posted it 35 years too late.. Well done.

Good on Vic park Council, the bloated Eagles coffers can easily cover these rates, apart from the Wirrapunda Foundation, what public service does the Eagles facility provide, what public access is there to there facilities. If there is neither then no reduction of rates should apply.
