I mentioned Olsen's nine in a half, but yes, Ugle's 12 before half time had to be seen to believed. And he was injured at the time...

Was against the Estuary Crabs in 97 from memory SD & SH?
Some other Swans boys a touch unlucky not to join that list were-
Brent Hutton- 11.4 vs CL in 1984
Kevin Caton- 10.6 vs EP in 1987
Troy Ugle- 10.4 & 12.2 vs PT in 1997
Ashley Hansen- 11.4 vs PT in 2012

12 before half time is an amazing effort....though Peel in 1997 were truly the proverbial witches hat from memory - 1/19 win loss record with a % of an abysmal 39%...but you can beat what's put in front of your I guess....which Troy well n truly did....twice!

1997 was the flag EF handed to SF by kicking 3.8 themselves in the final quarter and Spalding gifting SF the winning goal with a dying seconds act of stupidity.....mad up for it the next year....but geez that feels like a life time ago....actually it is!!

I can remember back to a game Subi v EF at EF oval back in the Jimmy Sewell days, no idea of the date, maybe late 70's early 80's when EF were a very good team, Subi were out of the blocks early and went in at halftime with a 9 goal lead, rightly EF were over confident. But they came out blazing in the 3rd and cut that to 5 goals by 3/4 time. Was still feeling confident at that stage, but the Gummies destroyed us in the last and won by 3 or 4 goals. If memory serves me well Jimmy bagged 12 that day most after halftime, we had no answer to him. I never heard the end of it from my Gummies tragic mate for years ... until 1986.

It was Brian Douge's first game as captain coach in 1977.

My sister had Paul Mountain as a teacher, but she was not interested in football. Crutchfield was at my school for a semester in the mid 1980s, I managed to wag for an hour to speak to him a wee bit on one occasion.

Also had Ian Logan as a primary school teacher. Who was my grandfather's next door neigbour.Wp player wingman quiet a good footballer.Graeme Campbell tried to take Ian to the Sanfl with him after he left WP as coach.Took Ross Gibbs with him to Glenelg.

Ross Gibbs moving to Glenelg is why they are my SA side :)

Leedy Ross Gibbs was a fantastic footballer.Huge over the pack marks+massive torpedo punts. His son Bryce has turned into a dud at Adelaide.

86 hurts way more then that 7.26 or 97 Spalding implosion SS....coming off that Darren Bennett 10 second semi, the GF was the most confident I had ever felt going into a footy match....Subi jumped out of the blocks from the first bounce and never looked back....the likes of Bomber, Neesham, Stevie Green and Budgie looked so old and slow defensively....Mainy and Wrensted had their worked cut out covering for them....kudos to Subi...

Yeah pretty sure that game where Jumping Jimmy Sewell kicked 12, Subi kicked 9 goals in the first quarter....from then on the floodgates opened for EF and they won easily....amazing some of the scorecards back then.....think in one game I went to, EF kicked a staggering 30 plus behinds, with 12 of them coming in the last quarter alone...

Our biggest winning margin against Subi was another fav game-

waflfootyfacts.net/season/games/stats.php?GameID=6542

And one of the last times we hit the 30 goal mark (outside of when the Estuary Crabs came in)-

Gee that Subiaco team from 1983 that got flogged by 140 points had some pretty decent players BH, some who played for the Eagles later. Mark Zanotti, Dwayne Lamb, Laurie Keene, Todd Breman, Warren Dean, Phil Lamb, Clint Brown and Greg Hutchinson.
Shows how things can turn quickly though as Subiaco won a flag 3 years later.
