Well he isnt helping there on field i heard there was 3 red cards given to kelmscott players on the weekend and apparently a kelmscott player was that disgusted in his teammates he packed his bags sometime in the second half and left was anyone at the game that could confirm any of this ? Surely the waafl would be taking a strong stance on this after what happened at the beginning if last season

Sounds about right... What happened to the behaviour management program that was mean to be in place? Also wasn't it meant to be "x" amount of cards and they're gone from the competition? 3 red cards in one Saturday is almost a straight gone for me. Disgusting.

Wouldn't worry about trying to build the social aspect of that club. The supporters aren't going to spend money at the bar, they rock up with their own eskys and park themselves around the ground.. Why would the juniors parents want their kids to play there? All their players do is go around punching players behind the play. Why wouldn't they take up boxing? Oh it's probably because its harder to hit someone when they know its coming..

Cancer, about sums it up really.

Witnessed first hand kelmscott in all there might on the weekend. 3 red cards and a yellow (which should have been a red) and a further 2 players leaving the ground before the end of the game because "I've had enough of this shit" one said! Doesn't matter what happens off the field this club fails itself on it. numours amounts of cheap shots, head butts and king hits throw at opposition players. Surely the league will take action after the weekends events.

League game or the Ressies game Mr M ???
We played them the week before and the League team weren't bad.
The Ressies on the other hand late hits a headbut and 2 hospital visits for 18 year olds...

Grassy wrote: Must be a way a few good folk at Kelmscott, the new GM,pissed off players with thugs to work something out the WAAFL and local Constabulary,to either weed out the Thugs.

Or at the very least give them a 1st and Final Warning Ultimatum, that Onfield Thuggery will not be Tolerated in Future and if necessary, legal action WILL taken against such acts?!

Legal action such as the two Kelmscott players that were charged with GBH for off the ball incidents in 2015? Or the warning that the WAAFL gave them before the 2016 season which Kelmscott failed to respond to and the League then banned them for Rd 1? Not sure how many chances one club should get. The WAAFL has a duty of care to provide a safe playing environment for the 9 other clubs in the competition and only way to do this may be to remove Kelmscott from the League.

Gee wizz, looks like there was some heat from Saturdays game. I didn't have the opportunity to get to the game so I'll talk to a few and see if I can get to the bottom of things. There was always lots of niggle from the Wanneroo boys and a fair bit of aggression from the local crowd (especially after the beer took effect) when we used to play Wanneroo at the Showgrounds in the old Sunday League so I wonder if any of that occurred again.

Still no excuse for red cards so I'll ask around and find out what happened to make sure that the real facts get put up here instead of gossip and rumour, although I would not dare suggest that anything Mrs Mysterious posts was gossip and rumour because I know how much trouble I would get into with Mr M!

Can confirm though that the clubs' Colts team has been withdrawn for the year which is obviously disappointing to all concerned.

For the love of the Game.

King make that 3 reds and 6 yellows direct quote from umpires.

Banning the club is one thing but if the WAAFL do this all that happens is the club surrounding Kelmscott pick up these so called thugs.
They will go and play footy somewhere and that may be Gosnells, Maddington, Armadale etc- so whilst people think oh yeh that will fix the problem alll it will do is transfer the problem to another grade/club.
Very sad for football when you have guys just out there to intimidate/ throw cheap shots around. Unfortunately this is not just confined to the Kelmscott Football club but every club has these types of players.

Our panel and club umpires need to start showing their duty of care and follow through when they issue a yellow or red card, rather than use that great statement of "we wont put it on the match sheet because i dont want to go to the tribunal". They are paid to do a job and someines up to $150 a game and with that payment you are taking respinsibilty for the way you officiate the game. If you do not wnat to follow it up do not ask for payment/do not umpire. Players safety inevitably is at risk.

So has the coach been suspended for going over the 10 point limit then?

FFTF I actually think the opposite will occur. If you force the player group to split up and they are taken up by a number of south suburban clubs then the players will have to adapt to a more disciplined culture.

As much as I hate to say it, if the reports are true then I think the WAAFL must act immediately and expel the club. I think most other B Grade clubs would be supportive of such a decision. albeit forcing a bye each week.

The WAAFL has a serious duty of care issue to address and you can't expect umpires to fix the problem.

Having umpired myself over a number of years, no amount of cash is worth the sort of abuse and intimidation from players and supporters that is dished out each week by the club.
