Blunder - who confirmed this and with whom?

The number of clearances out (15 or more from there league side last year), apparently not enough numbers to play the intra-club last week all doesn't go well for this season - the fact that another rumour says they will forfeit round 1 with a view to recruiting players over Easter is surely a pisstake - they have had 6 months to recruit players do you think they will flock there after the season has started.

Hopefully someone from Kelmscott can come on here and set the record straight - would be a sad situation if B Grade was reduced to a 9 team comp

We were told at training last night that kelmscott had contacted the club (Mt Lawley) and said that they were ready to roll with this weekend's fixture despite the rumours.

Hard to see how with 33 clearances out either approved or pending, given that they couldn't field a full ressies or colts team in A Grade last year. They do have a number of WAFL permit players listed but unless half of the WAFL has a bye this week then most wouldnt be available.

I am a current long-time supporter of Kelmscott Footy club and I am sick and tired of reading untrue gossip and romours about my club.
While I am not close to everything, from talking to people who know, the things that folow are closer to the truth than what has been said sofar on this thread.

Firstly the intra-club practice game didn't go ahead due to a last minute notice from the local council that the club couldnt play on our oval due to urgent ground maintenance.
Next the club has a current list of over 150 eligible senior players and all that is happenning is that alot of those players from previous years are taking time to register for 2017.
Apart from 2 or 3 required players that the club did not wish to lose, the rest of the clearances are players who the new football department did not want back at the club,a number of 3rds players from 3 years ago that were deemed not good enough to play B Grade and some colts from last year. The club has plenty of numbers on its books (what you see on Sporting Pulse is irrelivent) and there is nothing like 33 required players who have applied for clearances.
Lastly at the beginning of this year the club had over 60 colts age players eligible to play colts in 2017. Despite un Australian pressure being placed on many of those colts from local clubs like Roleystone, armadale, Cannin Vale and Gosnells that all know they should not be trying to poach our colts, and should know better only 5 or 6 colts have bene cleared. Our club has heard on good authority at least one of those clubs has promised any Colts player who transfers from Kelmscott will not have to pay fees in 2017.

Our club is a very proud and historical club being first formed in 1898 and has put up with nothing but false gossip and rumour for the last 5 or 6 yrs (mainly from arrogant Northern and western suburbs clubs)and has deliberately kept quiet to avoid giving credability to such rubbish.

There is a new committee and new coaches that have cleaned out a small group of troublemakers that every club has from time to time and is working hard to do the right thing on and off the field.

All I think is fair is that the club be given a fair go.

Great story Torpedo. Lots of 'alternate facts' you've offered up. I hadn't realised Trump joined your committee.

Sporting Pulse shows that you have had 33 players request or been approved clearances to other clubs. You say that only 2 or 3 of these were required players but what sporting pulse does show is that a number of your regular and best A Grade players have been cleared and a number of your so called 'un-required' players have been denied clearances out. Some of them have been denied clearances several times. Given you've had very few clearances in, if you do have 150 senior and 60 colts players on your list, then:
- why couldn't you field a full colts or ressies side in A Grade last year
- why did some of your ressies have to back up and play League several times last year
- why are you denying transfers for un-required players
- why have you nominated 2 senior teams and 1 colts. Surely you have enough numbers for 4 or 5 senior and 2 colts teams?

I imagine as a longtime supporter who "isn't close to everything but have talked to people in the know" - yes you would be frustrated with the rumours and untrue gossip however the facts my friend don't lie

As tiger mentioned, the sporting pulse clearance page clearly shows a number of players wanting out with some being denied 2 - 3 times before being cleared - this sounds like players who have had enough and want out and the club trying it's best to retain them. All is not well when the captain and best player in the state 23's last year wants a clearance out!

As for putting up with "false gossip and rumour the last 5 - 6 years mainly from Northern and Western suburbs clubs" - the fact that the club was penalised for playing players ( fuel cards ring a bell) as well as having to forfeit round 1 last year due to the failure of the club to guarantee that the violence issue resulting in red cards would be addressed can't lay the blame elsewhere.

I wish the new committee and coaches the best of luck and hope that as you say a long well established club can participate in this years competition but as an outsider looking in, the facts don't lie ( I hope I'm proven wrong!)

I would think the WAAFL could look to see registered players and make a decision whether they have the capacity to field 3 teams or not.
Would just hope they don't leave it to the last minute like last year to make a call on Kelmscott.

Some good questions about last year Tiger Tales.

Sneaky I think you'll find that your take on the clearances is not as you keep saying.

I've got this week off work so heading out to do a few things (hopefully buying a new putter that makes the ball go in the whole instead of always missing) but i'll ask around and get back to you both later today.

Tiger and Sneaky which clubs do you guys follow in the Amateur League?
