Nah, this ones a train wreck grassy, the good thing is there a plenty of clubs out that way for people to play football. The good clubs with good people will always prosper.

Pretty sure its the worst kept secret in amateur football what has happened out there, its a shame, I know some of the folk out there and they are great people. Hopefuly they can cut the deadwood and come to the fore to get the club back on the right track.

UHTB, without agreeing with all your conclusions, I heard that the new group at the club now did finally manage to cut the deadwood out at the committee level at the end of last year and given their recent history since 2007 with not strong numbers, took the bold step to move on some deadwood on the playing front a couple of months ago.

From all the good people I have spoken to out here, they are more than confident that the club is heading in the right direction even though the early part of this year may be tough on-field. Make no mistake though, the depressing feel around the place at the end of last year was due to some poor player management by the senior coaches and some negative vibes and conduct coming from one or two of the off field group who are no longer there. The talk is really strong that the players who left the club in Feb and March this year had made up their mind to leave in August and Sep last year as a result of the things that happened in 2016.

There is a solid core of good blokes in the player group now that is building every week and all that should happen is that everyone leaves the club alone because only one of two things is gonna happen. They’ll either consolidate and rebuild and become the great club that existed prior to 2007 and that I knew and loved so much. Or they’ll drop down the grades (and don’t forget that in 2009 that is where they started – I think it was called D Grade black or gold or something which at that time was probably the same as C3 or C4. A lot of people seem to forget that the club was in a mess from the end of 2006 when it tried to wind itself up and so lost all its players then. If you look at the club’s results in the Sunday League in 2007 and 2008, they had no colts and hardly won a game in League and Reserves for those two years, using a fraction of the numbers of players required to field two teams, with many players regulerly doubling up) and end up being another club in the South East corridor with massive potential playing low grade football and surely there’s enough of them as it is. Surrounding Kelmscott is Roleystone in E1, Armadale in C4, Forrestdale in E1, Piarra Waters in C3, Canning Vale in C2 and Gosnells in C2. Surely the boys and young men in those postcodes deserve to have the choice of an A Grade club on their doorstep just like the privelidged do in the Northern and Western suburbs.

In fairness, this is a good reason why Maddington should also be commended and supported in their attempts to build an A Grade club there.

My mail is that no matter what happens the new group at Kelmscott will not give up on the place and are there for the long haul.

Whatever theories a small group of knockers on this site think and whatever the jealous, negative detractors outside the club beleive, all that has happened over the past 7 yrs since the club was placed in the Amateur League was to try and establish an A Grade club in the South East corridor of Perth that would accomodate the incredibly talented group of young players out here so playing A Grade football did not depend on which postcode you lived in.

Going forward why doesn’t everyone just leave the club alone and let it decide its own fate.

For the love of the game.

Mr Torpedo,

I’m sure I’m like a few on here who have read your posts over the past week and thought that maybe there is more to the Kelmscott story than some people may have thought.

You have to understand though that the rumours about Kelmscott have been strong for a number of years now and no-one from Kelmscott has ever really dealt with those rumours properly.

I suppose this means in simple terms, it is hard for some people, myself included, to believe that things are on the right track.

The only thing I think the reasonable posters on this site could agree with is to accept your more than reasonable suggestion to leave the club alone and let it decide its own fate.

So now that Easter is done and dusted, does anyone have any idea where kelmscott is now at? Rumours of a number of players waiting to be registered prior to Easter doesn't seemed to have happened as yet in fact the clearances page shows a few more have requested out which can't be good seemed they struggled for numbers in round 1

When are Kelmscott getting kicked out of the competition? There is no bigger disgrace in the WAAFL then Kelmscott football club. First they can't even field a colts side. Then the 2 games I watched, witnessed dozens of blatant cheap shots from the scum that don the white and blue. The president of this football club should be embarrassed. He has aloud this to happen for years and this behaviour is now a direct reflection upon him. They are a disease to the WAAFL.

You're right. The club is struggling but there is a new General Manager in place there working to turn the club around.

Interesting role this General Manager. Monday - Friday 9:30am to 1230pm. You wouldn't think there would be much action at an amateur club during this time. Then looking for a game day manager, whats next a training manager.

Good to see the club attempting to address some issues...Is the GM role a paid position?
