Embers has been a star but from what I'm hearing he's hanging em up...been a pleasure watching him grow from a 10yo kid into a footballer of the tallest order. Done himself and his family proud. I'm sure his good mate Adam Borg is looking down on him from above tonight with a big smile if indeed it is his last game. Whatever he decides for him and his young family I wish him well. He certainly showed us older blokes he grew up kicking the footy around how it's done and we are all damn proud of his success.

Well said mate the Embleys are a great Swans/Bassendean family with Andrew having a long distinguished career. I am sure time permitting we will see him around the club with the kids on the hill watching his beloved Black Ducks unless the Eagles get him in a paid role over at the other mob!

On yesterdays game I was surprised we didnt end up playing Rogers (unless he was injured) as his strong body was what we needed in the heat of battle.
Twomey, Ames, Notte, Davis & Embley were standouts for us while the others tried hard but where overwhelmed in the end and also having Geappen get injured in the 1st qtr threw our forward structure completely out of whack.
On a side note I was interested to see Nic Nat & Ashton Hams walking across the ground at 3 qtr time & walk straight past the WCEP huddle to head to the Swans huddle.
I am sure Swan 42 would have liked seeing Nic Nat show his true colours not his employers!! :)

didnt expect to win but we gave them some easy goals with our turnovers and a deliberate out of bounds, that was at least 3 goals i can remember..
East Perth took their chances and the 9 goals from 2 blokes that shouldnt be playing for them doesnt make it any easier but that is the crap comp we have been given..

BH, I bet NN won't be doing that next year..bit of difference ignoring 5 WCE boys in a huddle compared to 15 next year!!

as for Hams, well he will probably be one of the fella's, NN et al from WCE will be walking straight past next year.....especially if he isn't in that EP huddle.......

Good to see Cripps show his ability with his 5 goals on Sun......not too sure where Markie is coming from with his comment 'Cripps shouldn't be playing for EP'....WCE are his employers, not EFFC nor the WAFL.....strange for a SD fan to be whinging about something like that.....shouldn't the EF fans be the ones whinging that Cripps should of been playing for EF in 2014?....especially since EF missed by about 4 pts of being in 3rd spot.....naaagh that's life.....good to see Jamie put SD season to bed.

Looking at the Stats the imports didnt make much of a difference
Selwood was brilliant but he was against SF a couple of weeks a go and SF beat them.

What happened to Dayle Garlett.. 7 disposals. Was he tagged or injured?

SwanDog if you wanted to see some shocking umpiring you should of been at CLA oval :( Unfortunately that wont change and we have to get used to it.

No excuses really in that department.

EP will lose to CLA next week that is assured. Webby will have his guys firing and that is frightning.

So back to a CLA V WP Finals and it will be a good game as CLA will have something to prove after yesterdays loss. Their mindset will be different as it is a GF and they have plenty of experience in that area. Its a worry

Have a good off season

Cripps kicked 5 and Lycett 4, thats half the goals
Selwood was everywhere early and Morton got 26 possies and Wilson got 13 possies in the backline .
those 5 had a massive impact on the game..
Lycett is the key though, Ames beat Smith but Swans couldnt stop the other tall down there..

Garlett didnt get enough ball up forward, he would have kicked 6-7 up the other end..

Hey Cardy you have ZERO idea of how influencial their Eagles were yesterday so dont bother commenting. Good luck if you play EP in the GF, you guys will need it as you just dont have the bigger bodies they have or AFL influence. But I will be there barracking for West Perth to win it for sure with my mate Leedy
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

BH thanks for that - it has not been a good week end for me for a myriad of reasons. Have a good summer and hopefully we will all come back recharged for the 2014 season. Also, with respect to the upcoming board election I would like to see Paul Rosair be elected to the board. I had a quick talk with him a couple of weeks ago and he is very interested in trying to ensure that with the Basso redevelopment that Swans get a deal which will allow for us to be able to get a continuing income flow from this redevelopment. If we were able to get a non-football source of ongoing income that it would help ensure the longterm viability of the mighty black and whites.

Getting back to the game there may have been one or two selections which did not work out too well. We look as though we may lose a significant number of players for 2014.

With respect to the last quarter I thought Harding was completely outcoached by Dawson in leaving spare players for the club formerly known as East Pertj to mop up every time we kicked the ball into our forward line. I don't think it would be fair to name some players who may not have put in a very good performance on Sunday. Hopefully they will be able to redeem themselves next year.

Congratulations to the club formerly known as East Perth. We were beaten by the better side on the day.

On the positives it was good to have a very good crowd with the Macca Stand getting back to almost its old voice from the good old days.

To the other very passionate Swans' members we have a very important board election coming up. As I mentioned earlier in this post I think that it would be very good to have Paul Rosair on the board to assist us in ensuring that we have a long term future. I will also say that I have known the Rosair family from the late 1960s. I will also state that I have not been asked by Paul Rosair nor anyone else to make the above comments. They are purely my thoughts.

I hope that all members take the time to read the views of all the candidates and vote according for the candidates who they think will be able to ensure the future of our great club. We certainly need to ensure that we all stay committed to the club and that we try to recruit a couple of new members for the 2014 season.
