Well time to get talking about the finals. Its going to be fine on Sunday, Freo are playing on Saturday, so no excuse for people not to flock in their thousands to Claremont or Bassendean .

Hate Sunday footy, but I suppose its something we have to put with to accommodate the AFL (Andrews F@#&&**G League!)

So what's going to happen in the First Semi? Likely to come in to the East Perth team are all their Eagles who have qualified, namely Wilson, Cripps, Rosa, Selwood and Lycett, not a bad quintet for a start. Swans will have Embley back. We will have to wait and see if Simpson is fit, he will be crucial against a team like East Perth

Both games between the teams this year were won by the Royals and it would be fair to say that their big man strength was the crucial factor in two competitive games. Tough afternoon ahead for young Lobb and will need lots of support from Notte and possibly another big bloke ( Blight or Blakely)

Wilson also owned Tim Geappan in these two games and Swoop has to work out a way to get into the play and contribute. Many of East Perth's non Eagles players have been excellent against Swans. I'm thinking Johnson, Smith, Cadwallender, Wulff,Clutterbuck, Lee, Oakley-Nicholls. A very talented team even without the WCE players. A juggernaut waiting to happen in 2014 I think. And they may even go all the way this year unless .......

Yes we can stop them, it will need top level intensity for 4 quarters, a winning midfield, goals from Charlie, Dayle and Davo, a watertight defence and Swans supporters to scream and shout all day to make the most of the home ground advantage.

Also to Swans advantage could be that they have had 2 finals level games in the last fortnight whereas East Perth have played 2 teams in the bottom 3 in the same period, so lets test them early and try to put some goals on and make them play catch up. We are playing our best footy of the season right now, but we have to keep it going.

The other factor that makes me fear this game is that Dawson has a very detailed knowledge of what makes many Swans players tick and is clever enough to put plans in place to neutralise them. I don't think Bennell will get the space he got last week.

All in all a mouth watering prospect..... I'm getting a pleasant vision.... Preliminary Final 2010 ...just another one like that will do fine thanks :)

I will go with some optimism maccastand. The odds are against us but I reckon we can do it if we play at our best.

Wilson, Lycett, Morton Cripps and Selwood to play which will see an equal number of boys miss out, although Morton has played most games so should not be counted as an in! Rosa having surgery!

Swan Districts have something we don't and that is speed and loads of it. The weather will play a part in this game and if it is a fast track the SD have a big chance.

I see one thing in our favour and that is the boys will have the emotional motivation to get the Number 13 into a GF and perhaps a premiership before he retires.

Should be a cracker! Good luck to both teams

i think swans will win this. They finished higher than EP.

EP lost to the 8th placed team 2 weeks ago, struggled against Subi too.
SD have had 2 stunning wins over EF and WP.

The two wins by EP over SD were quite close, and too long ago to be relevant. But it looks like the weather will be perfect, 18 degrees and cloudy. Should be a big crowd no doubt.

come on Mikeh.....odds are against us?.....playing at home.....in tip top form apparently after two stunning wins back to back.......all in SD favour if you ask me.

though I do see your angst mate....EP intensity levels will be a touch higher than what WP were last Sat....plus on paper EP taller boys will ask a shed load more questions than what WP tall players did....think EP will comfortably win the aerial battles.....it's a given that the SD smaller brigade must win the ground battle to give SD a fighting chance......as much as Markie Olsen says SD start every game 5 goals in arrears due to Harding as his coaching ability.....playing at home, surely the most supported and exciting team in the WAFL start favorites on Sunday.....surely?

I would expect the club formerly known as East Perth to be quoted on the TAB as raging hot favourites.

Bennell does not need space he makes space, I hope he makes the final 22. To close for anyone to predict a definite winner, Swans have better lead in form but I can tell you EP have been going very easy for some time and should play a strong four quarters.

Markie SDFC finished above EP, won their last two against sides either in the finals or still in the race to get there........whilst EP struggled or lost to 2 sides finished for the year......PLUS playing at home!!.......who needs to watch a game in the WAFL......plus Tallen says SDFC are the only team capable in the WAFL of stopping Cl......thus he reckons EP aren't.....SD by 5 unless they choke like they did last year.....
