disgrace of a club and its a pity to see them getting rewarded but Bronte decided it was the only way they could win a flag so good luck to him i suppose..

like i said, i dont agree with it either Olsen.
wouldnt suprise me to see a few of our decent players in swans colours next year. there will be an exit no doubt.

not much else i can say on the issue.

I will write a post later in the week about Swans season, I will able to be more objective in a few days when the disappointment has subsided. Needless to say today felt like a microcosm of the whole season - sometimes competitive and tough (1st Quarter into the breeze), sometimes brilliant (2nd quarter 7 goals), sometimes liable to switch off (3rd Quarter) and sometimes plain disinterested( 4th quarter).

Good Mike I will look forward to it.

Be sure to include the following:

Our off field / season indiscretions that included the Northbridge bashings we were involved with and the hit and run controversy.

Our salary cap strife

Our childish "West Coast Eagles" scoreboard that would have served no purpose other than to inspire the opposition if they bothered to look at it.

The ridiculous "Ash Hansen" to play that fooled nobody, (especially at East Perth). The only ones fooled were the 22 at our club that were wondering "Which one of us will miss out?"

The fair weathered fans of ours that hemorrhaged out of the ground when we were four goals behind.

and finally if some AFL team is to take on the Garlett project next year we can remember him for his last piece of cowardice before the siren when beaten by East Perth's Fred Clutterbuck he tried to shove him into the fence...

Selwood was everywhere early and Morton got 26 possies and Wilson got 13 possies in the backline .
those 5 had a massive impact on the game..
Lycett is the key though, Ames beat Smith but Swans couldnt stop the other tall down there..

Garlett didnt get enough ball up forward, he would have kicked 6-7 up the other end..

yes Mark we know all this about Lycett, Cripps, Morton etc....we get your point? Anyway I thought SD had the best defence in the league.....surely Simpson, Notte or Howard would of sorted Lycett......and someone like Jetta or Hams could of nullified Cripps......what went wrong?.....besides the fact that Lycett and Cripps shouldn't of been on the ground in the first place!

Also your Garlett wish may come true next year, if WCE decide to draft the kid.....

Lycett: 203cm 98kg
Simpson: 189cm 81kg
Howard: 190cm 86kg

No wonder Lycett was too big and strong.

Having Notte playing in defence shouldn't happen for any extended stretch because he's needed in ruck and vital as a lead up forward.

The defence is the least of our worries. Considering the volume and quality of the ball headed their way, they did well. They'd do far better if the midfield considered assisting them...

Nah. I might concentrate on the on field stuff. You seem to be more on the "inner sanctum" than I am. I will say however that many people have come on here and stated their opinions on some of the issues you mentioned above and that is fine. I have done the same myself, particularly with the scoreboard and Hansen issue. What gets me confused is when some state their opinions as facts and what they really are just assumptions, inneudo or a repeating a whisper that they have heard around the club and there is no real factual basis to what they are saying. That's why I generally stay away from this stuff because I am just a member of the club and I don't have that inside information.

Selwood was brilliant but he was against SF a couple of weeks a go and SF beat them.

What happened to Dayle Garlett.. 7 disposals. Was he tagged or injured?

SwanDog if you wanted to see some shocking umpiring you should of been at CLA oval :( Unfortunately that wont change and we have to get used to it.

No excuses really in that department.

EP will lose to CLA next week that is assured. Webby will have his guys firing and that is frightning.

So back to a CLA V WP Finals and it will be a good game as CLA will have something to prove after yesterdays loss. Their mindset will be different as it is a GF and they have plenty of experience in that area. Its a worry

Have a good off season

Without doubt this is the dumbest post I have seen in 11 years on these footy forums and that is saying something let me tell ya!!
To suggest the Eagles players "after looking at the stats didnt make much of a difference" makes you wonder what actually does make a difference or what stats were looked at certainly not yesterdays game?

Cripps 5 goals & 25 disposals
Lycett 4 goals & 29 hit outs
Selwood 32 disposals & 8 ducking free kicks
Morton 26 disposals
Wilson 13 disposals & blanketed an injured Geappen

Added to that Garlett kicked 3 goals anchored from the goal square from his 7 disposals as that is the role he has been told to play for the team.
A mind boggling moronic post!

BH, I think you should edit your post there against Selwood, there needs to be an 'f' there rather than 'd' ( and its not 'fisposals') :P

Twomey, Ames, Notte, Davis & Embley were standouts for us while the others tried hard but where overwhelmed in the end and also having Geappen get injured in the 1st qtr threw our forward structure completely out of whack.
On a side note I was interested to see Nic Nat & Ashton Hams walking across the ground at 3 qtr time & walk straight past the WCEP huddle to head to the Swans huddle.
I am sure Swan 42 would have liked seeing Nic Nat show his true colours not his employers!! :)

BH, I bet NN won't be doing that next year..bit of difference ignoring 5 WCE boys in a huddle compared to 15 next year!!

as for Hams, well he will probably be one of the fella's, NN et al from WCE will be walking straight past next year.....especially if he isn't in that EP huddle.......

Good to see Cripps show his ability with his 5 goals on Sun......not too sure where Markie is coming from with his comment 'Cripps shouldn't be playing for EP'....WCE are his employers, not EFFC nor the WAFL.....strange for a SD fan to be whinging about something like that.....shouldn't the EF fans be the ones whinging that Cripps should of been playing for EF in 2014?....especially since EF missed by about 4 pts of being in 3rd spot.....naaagh that's life.....good to see Jamie put SD season to bed.

i agree with you freezin'.effc should be the ones who are whinging'.as for lycett with three of our afl players moving to peel lycett and wilson had to come to the royals so i dont know what olsen is on about.if the eagles had picked up a slew of eastern states under 18 players like the dockers did i am not sure whether they would have moved cripps and wellingham &morton over to us straight away.in the end everyone team has had some afl players.it seems that the swannie supporters have been the biggest cry baby's all year.if not the alignment it is the umpires.
