The move by Harding to play a seven against six back line was very interesting. Smith found himself two on one many times which curbed his influence. What this meant was East Perth where effectively able to keep the ball trapped in for large periods. 66 to 37 inside fifties bears this out, even though the open Swans forward line functioned well you don't win many with 37 forward entries.

Swandog wrote: Hey Cardy you have ZERO idea of how influencial their Eagles were yesterday so dont bother commenting. Good luck if you play EP in the GF, you guys will need it as you just dont have the bigger bodies they have or AFL influence. But I will be there barracking for West Perth to win it for sure with my mate Leedy

Ok it is history now and your out! Would like someone to analyze the game a bit better though..
You mention Cripps total of 15 kicks = 5 goals
Lycett 7 kicks = 4 goals

Sounds like the EP midfield dominated? No inside 50 stats unfortunately.

Look forward to seeing you at the Big one mate.
Looking at the Perth Reserves WP will more than likey have 2 teams there on the day.. Yeh I know early days but our Ressies are hot. WP reserves havent won a GF since 1960 :) SF wont be easy even though we did defeat them in our last outing.
AM West Perth 15.8 (98) South Fremantle 9.10 (64

I will be heading up to CLA this Sunday to watch WP V PTH Reserves. Early start again or will the WAFL go back to the regular times?
Colts CLA v Subi... Should be a CLA win.

swans turned it over too easy in the last qtr. under little pressure they just bombed it long straight on the chest of the opposition. many kicks just went too high and they just wasted it. they made ep look better than what they probably were. swans at times were poor coming out of defence. so many times they could have really troubled EP, but disposal and options killed them in the end. i thought embley was very good and Ames was great for 3 quarters.

you must have been pleased getting 9 goals out of Lycett and Cripps ?
2 players who shouldnt be with you kicked half your score..

Might have had his mind on the female he was chatting up behind the members 40 minutes before the game.

i dont care for the alignment as you may know. EP had i think 5 afl listed players yesterday, i dont know how many SD had, probably less.

EP lost a few to peel & in return got some back in the swap.

swans have been well served over the years by afl players, like all clubs. i remember claremont & east frem having sometimes up to 9 or 10 afl listed players playing on occasions. but thats the luck of the draw, we all know that.

Yes Olsen i am not naive enough to say it didnt make a difference. it did for sure on the day.

On another note it seems Collingwood may delist A.Krakouer. Talk is he will be back at swans next year.

East Perth got more than the luck of the draw this year, they changed the rules to help you and gave you Cripps and Morton instead of them going back to their original clubs..they then had the nerve to try and get Bennell off Swans but you will have him next year and are trying to get the rules changed to get Selwood as well..
disgrace of a club and its a pity to see them getting rewarded but Bronte decided it was the only way they could win a flag so good luck to him i suppose..
