What a bugger! The old footy tipping is a bit of a train wreck this week.

Bad luck Swans. I watched the game on TV & you guys put up a brave showing. I actually had a feeling prior to the game that you might be able to win this but it wasn't to be. We can only hope that Claremont can do the job next week.

Gonna make a bold statement hear and say that we lost today not becoz of the umps, not becoz we were outclassed either, we were simply out worked from the first bounce by EP...work rate from the SD boys was far from up to standard. EP dominated the clearances and we couldn't find an answer. Blokes around me commenting that Twomey was our barometer but by games end clearly it was Garlett. Thought he was ready to tear a game apart pre-bouncedown but looked disinterested most of the game as did others. Players coming off the ground looked like they'd hardly raised a sweat and at times were quite argumentative with the sidelines. If you don't bring ur A game boys, you lose, it's as simple as that. Hard to tell if we were out-coached today as I felt our boys were a bit flat and tbh lucky to still be in it at 3/4 time.

Good luck to the ferals for the rest of the year. Don't begrudge them success this year and hope they tear the Tiges apart. To Jardine & Grump, congrats and hope u get to enjoy another cupla games before 'the handover' ....to BH sorry mate the joy just didn't follow me today and to the rest of the Ducks on this site ie Swandog, mikeh & co thanks for the banter. Have enjoyed my first season engaging in this forum and will be back next season for sure. Time to go lie down and bleed out for a while.

Well done East Perth, you wanted it so much more than us today. It was actually quite embarrassing for Swans supporters to watch in the last quarter. Even though our 3rd quarter was insipid, we were still well within striking distance at three quarter time and I thought that with the breeze in the last we could at least throw out a challenge. Instead they didn't fire a shot. On the rare occasion that we got the ball, our players just bombed it up to the forward 50 and made it easy for the Royals defence

As you said DW many of the players looked disinterested at times and our field kicking in the 2nd half was deplorable. I lost count of the number of turnovers in the midfield. Selwood and Cripps were very good but there were another 3 or 4 Royals players who were better than our best midfielder. It felt like a 10 goal loss and it probably would have been if we had not kicked so accurately.

Sorry Swandog, the umpiring had no influence on the game,as it rarely has. If anything Swans probably got a few more soft ones in the end.

I will write a post later in the week about Swans season, I will able to be more objective in a few days when the disappointment has subsided. Needless to say today felt like a microcosm of the whole season - sometimes competitive and tough (1st Quarter into the breeze), sometimes brilliant (2nd quarter 7 goals), sometimes liable to switch off (3rd Quarter) and sometimes plain disinterested( 4th quarter).

West Perth's victory today has now thrown the premiership race wide open and I believe any one of the remaining three teams can win the flag, it will come down to which team is more focused on the day.

Good luck to all teams

To all of the Swannies supporters, it was a very good game and you had your chances but as I said somewhere else your pace would be the thing on yourside but our talls would still be tall in the last quarter.

No gloating no childish stuff , I look forward to seeing you next season

PS You really need to get Embers to go around again, he is just superb and one the best to come outa basso!

Nice call Grump... Embers has been a star but from what I'm hearing he's hanging em up...been a pleasure watching him grow from a 10yo kid into a footballer of the tallest order. Done himself and his family proud. I'm sure his good mate Adam Borg is looking down on him from above tonight with a big smile if indeed it is his last game. Whatever he decides for him and his young family I wish him well. He certainly showed us older blokes he grew up kicking the footy around how it's done and we are all damn proud of his success.
