Bazza is that to all games or just the derby, if so its a bit late they knew East Fremantle were not having a fence around for how long.

It is such a shame that Shark Park is not up to scratch. It was close to the best WAFL venue in Perth. Great atmosphere and always a good crowd there . Why would they put skate parks Dog Parks and basketball courts right next to the oval surely that will turn a lot of people off from going there and no fence is just unbelievable.
Didn’t PINK FLOYD play there back in the day to 40,000 people.
The residents of the East Fremantle Town Council have lost an historic amazing STADIUM and now have featureless boring community centre.

Hearing that WAFC will not allow free entry to games as its breach of rules of comp.
and temporary fencing for WAFL games - all attendees will pay at the gates as per WA footy usual

new Oval slated for mid-May opening fixture as of today 5pm - still no movement on that officially

Surely there is a very simple solution to this mess. Put a permanent fence around it with 3 or 4 gates that are open 24/7 but closed on match days where entry fees are charged. I can see where the East Freo council and the locals would struggle with this. It’s called commonsense.

Is the public allowed to have access to the oval so fido can run and catch the ball and lay a cable? If so who cleans up before training nights 5 nights a week for the senior and colts when they train and match days with colts, reserves and league matches on?
Get on your bike.

Sounding like EFFC won't be playing there this season and are all ready making plans to play at Fremantle Oval.

Surface is not working out as planned plus a myriad of other problems, WAFC have advised them the ground is not to standard, and with just 400 seats and no sign the outer will be ready will not cope with even a small WAFL crowd of 1000. The 400 seats is reduced further with media and also the lower row is blocked by the dug out shelters.

WAFC is meeting this week to decide on the fencing issue but sounds like it will be all or nothing for entire season in 2025.

Hearing that EFFC have already been told even in 2025 they will play 6 home games at Fremantle.

hurdles already due to the sheer lateness in time
EF fixtures will have to be amended for any games played at Fremantle Oval - already have SF & Fremantle AFLW firmly fixtured in and I think everyone thought EF Oval was a goer and this has frecked just about everything with a week to go before the start

some bods at WAFC not all that happy campers

If it goes this way - Yes they will amend them slightly will mean games at Fremantle most weekends probably Sunday if not Saturday when we are away, other thing they will most likely do is give a few "home" games away.

A few of the non WAFL games start early on a Saturday 12.40, so may mean slotting them in on a late start after, or on a Sunday, wont be that hard.

Another big financial loss this year after losing truck loads at the WACA.

there's a bit a use planned in - there does have to be ample time for maintenance and recovery or it'll fall to shite pretty quickly

it's just so late in the piece

For those who wish to pick apart the venue's lack of suitability, visit here -

www.wafooty.com.au/download/d/V-I85I9P6f...M0JpOLYiBbprIcfTAaxw

Fence around the stadium is covered -

f) The ground must be fully enclosed to effect entry and exit points. Turnstiles or other appropriate measures should be installed to ensure that accurate crowd attendance figures are recorded. (Reserve or Enclosed Venue Fencing)

Also covered is suitable areas for cameramen/media etc, and interestingly how many change rooms does the venue have - do they have an adequate umpires changeroom? Do they have adequate space for a doctor's rooom, a trainer's room, a private drug testing area.

Both the Home and Visiting Coaching Boxes must have a suitable telephone / wireless communication device from the Coaches Box to the interchange bench (will a mobile do??)

and more importantly - DO ALL THE OTHER CLUBS CURRENTLY HAVE ALL THIS ?
