I see the East Freo redevelopment has been boosted by the state government.  What do East Freo supporters think about the proposal?

And the worst kept secret confirmed, Mark McGowan doesn’t know one end of a football from the other. Couldn’t catch it and struggled to kick it 3 metres.

My understanding is the state government commitment of 20 million $ being made before the state election. And funding has been delivered on the redevelopment. About time works started across there.

The attacks on McGowan are getting even more puerile.

Congratulations EFFC, the works are now due to start this year, and it will be the second WAFL ground redevelopment to come to fruition after Claremont.

But the big news is that EF will be the first free entry WAFL venue, there will be no gates or fences or admission costs.

That is true and according to Mark Stewart, who on Saturday said, the club is to reimbursed by the Town of East Fremantle for lost match day revenue. Todd Shimmon recently when interviwed by 91.3 Sportsfm said there is be seating for 500. Potentially that could be sold for games. Removing the fences also makes the space more inclusive for the wider community and hopefully allows the space to be better used and enjoyed by those that wish to.

The gate revenues are now so small that they do not make up a reliable part of club income, and the new deal with the EFTC means permanent cash compensation is guaranteed with no payments required to the council for use of the oval long term.

Pretty good chance a lot more people will go along as well. It's the way of the future.

And for people to use in general and the area being liberated somewhat for wider use particularly by the local community.

I was sceptical about no gates and fences, but now I see the logic. If people could wander in just for a free “gander”, there’s a chance to pick up the odd kid or two into Aussie Rules.  Who knows, maybe even the odd supporter or two.

DD McClown admitted it as such in one of his many lookateme press conferences last week with the words that came out of his mouth- "I couldnt care less about football"!
How very un West Australian of him or more like the real NSW coming out!
