Ended up going. Enjoyable night for the quality of subi's footy in the first quarter, the still cold night, the can ofVB, a beer I rarely touch, and the healthy crowd, mainly Perth supporters. Good on them. The last quarter goal by Perth was fun. 1909 apparently since they haven't scored  in a game.  Supporters took it in good spirit

Perth were clearly undermanned.

I think the club benefits from its presence  in the middle of the suburbs.  Subi should try to reconnect with the locals in Subiaco , shenton park, Daglish. Or recruit some Leederville residents

Perth were undermanned, but I think WAFL fans as a whole have that sinking feeling of "here we go again." Subi with just the one loss and a % of over 150, more than 20% above the next best. Why do we bother?

Yep spot on Ted. Just back to the status quo after a blip in 2020. Nobody can match them really when they are playing like that.

From what has been posted the blip in 2020 was caused by Subi's injuries.  With a shortened season last year obviously it didn't give Subi a chance to recover.  There is no reason to expect that normal transmission won't be restored in 2021.

Yep...agreed. it was very pretty to watch. I'm surprised you lot aren't pointing the finger at the seats deal....oh hang on that finished 3 years ago...or our recruiting...hmmmm we weren't allowed to last year and only picked up Matera since then who's played 2 games. I guess you'll all just have to accept that local kids coming through like the HIckmotts, Stainsby, Fullgrabe, Nick Martin, Putt, Faraone and the continued growth of Clark, Braut, Beverley going to the next level is driving our success at the moment. There's still a long way to go so I'm certainly not crowing at the moment but I like where the club is heading.  Throw in the return forward Borchet, mids Max Walters and Rowan Powell, and the likely availability of Jack Mayo then hopefully we'll be ok if we don't get too many injuries in the interim.

1 goal all night - and then in the last Qrt, utter rubbish regardless of excuses.

Pretty depressing stuff, tbh SFFC will struggle v them come business end.

Does that include Perth freak like appearance in the finals?

Awesome performance by the Lions, some breathtaking movement of the footy. Fast, frenetic, foot on the throat demolition of an opposition. Loved it!

Great display of footy by the boys but really we shouldn't take too much from it, we were virtually playing a reserves team and a team that appeared to have hit the wall after a couple of very brave wins. They will be a very different proposition once they have a full squad to choose from.

Sokol's first half was pretty special, his kicking was something to behold with most of his goals coming from sharp angles. Kitch was at his busy niggling best, Clark was huge with 42 disposals after easily shaking off the early tag, must be shirtening for a dip at the Sandover, the backs did as they wanted, it rarely passed our halfback line, the new Matera is improving, as are the Hickmont boys, Dela once again made his own arrangements either in the ruck or "resting" on the wing.

As I said, not too much to be taken out of the game, 3 key players yet to come back in in Walters (concussion/broken jaw) Powell (severe concussion) and Borchet (ankle). Would not expect Borch or Maxy back for maybe 3 - 4 weeks, maybe Powell after the bye but these guys will have to make a good case for re-inclusion with the current group doing most things right. All 3 injured players could easily spend a week or 2 in the Magoo's when they are fit to return.
