Where did you get that the lack of vaccines was a problem? I read only a couple of weeks ago that in WA only 78% of vaccines available were being used and the rest thrown away. Those numbers are in part due to the vaccines being AZ but also McGoo making statements like he did yesterday which breeds complacency and hesitancy to get jabbed.  People ask why should they get vaccinated when it's not going to stop lockdowns anyway?
Are you saying I didn't have to wait weeks before I was able to receive my first vaccine shot?
Maybe you did but you also made the statement that a significant part of the problem was vaccines not being available when clearly they are.
There is no MAYBE about it.  It is a nonsense to suggest that the lack of vaccines has not had an impact on vaccination rates for all of Australia.

Lets face it every state could have done better, the federal government should have done better and yep should have  but the simple fact is that we were not prepared for this type of catastrophic event and therein lies part of the problem.

We now have politics playing a significant part in how we are managing what is happening now.

WA have McGoo going to what really amounts an extreme posture with his 80% but still taking lockdowns a key strategy when targeted ones are the way forward. His no vac' posture is ok by me as long it is directed at everyone and allows some folk to travel within and into here with some certainty.

We have QLD, TAS, SA and NT all going down a similar path to WA but without the somewhat bullying tactic and then we have NSW and VIC where it seems that it is the population that is really the big issue.

Yep Gladiolus jis/was just being a twit and not listening (as it turns out if the media is to be believed). I am not surprised that the NSW population is behaving the way it is, her and her cabinets leadership has been non existent and relying on Morrison to bail her out which he does everytime whilst bagging other places.

Perhaps the lesson to be learned is that it is great to do disaster planning for fires, cyclones and floods but it needs to events that aren't the norm like pandemics and lets hope it never happens war!
What McGowan said was that on reaching 70/80% vaccination rate rather than needing to lockdown the entire Perth/Peel area or a country region there could be a more nuanced approach where specific suburb(s) could be locked down or a country town could be locked down if necessary.

McGoo is just making this shit up as he goes along. His kryptonite is open borders, he is shit scared of them. He dead set want's the power to shut the whole show down if someone sneezes so he can get on his soap box and tell us how much he hates doing it but he is keeping us safe, while at the same time protecting his 20th century hospital system. His arrogance and petulance yesterday towards the media was unbelievable, like a school teacher standing silent at the front of the class waiting for silence so his royal highness can speak.
Get on your bike.

Yes I saw that too DD.  How dare a reporter question what he is saying?

Based on that post it would be a reasonable assumption that you haven't seen any recent press conferences held by the NSW premier and health minister.

It is a FACT that I had to wait to get my first vaccine shot.  No equivocation, no ambiguity, no qualification.

The vaccination rates are improving throughout Australia INCLUDING WA.  With the availability of the Pfizer vaccine for 16 years and up in WA that trend will continue.

I think it'll be a battle to get to an 80% rate - there's just so many anti's out here and others who don't give a rats arse about anything other than themselves and will not be told anything
So the passport idea is a good one for mine - it weeds out the muck

Disclaimer - and for sure medical grounds should be an exception to it

Maybe you needed to crank up the Mitsubishi Magna and go outside the suburb of Maida Vale and find available vaccines as they're out there.

There's no lack of vaccine WA Health were far to slow setting up the mass vaccination centers.
