Geez even that old Labor crook Burke continued to live in his Balga electorate until he finished in parliament, a sitting member, whatever persuasion they may be, should respect those who vote them in by at least living in that electorate. if he hates Rocky that much, then change seats to Perth or resign, then he can live where he likes.
We all know its charade, just like how Wyatt couldnt wait to jump into the bed with the big end of town, and McGowan will do the same, I would say he has already T'd up a job with a cooperate after politics, on top of that he is one of the few Pollies left on the Massive Pension Gravy Train for life as well, so we are stuck paying for him for ever and a day. the 3 mill house will be secure and he wont have to hang around Rocko Bogans.

We are also now learning that the Crown Casino Commissioner, is a mate of Stokes who is of course a mate of Packer, WA Inc stench, and apparently McClown cannot remember who picked him, yes WA Inc and these cretins lining pockets and getting big corporate gigs for life is well alive.

Labor is looking rather disheveled right now, McGoo has received a rap on the knuckles from Scott Morrison for breaking away from what was agreed at the Premiers cabinet meeting as the way forward when we reach 80% vaccination rates and his cabinet ministers have been made to look foolish when asked who picked the Crown Casino Commissioner.

Quigley has said he had no idea about the relationship between the commissioner and Stokes and would not have agreed to his appointment if he knew. McGoo danced around the question if it was him who recommended him saying oh I don’t remember, it was a cabinet decision, then they showed the clip last night where Paul Papalia was asked the same question in a radio interview and he looked sheepish and said I think it was the Premier. Oh dear 😂🤣
Is that the same Scott Morrison who is so gutless that he didn't come to WA during our state election to campaign for the Liberals?  Will Morrison join the latest Palmer HC challenge against WA?

And for the record what McGowan said is completely in accord with the national cabinet agreement.
Utter bullshit. McGoo has stated lockdowns is his preferred method and he wants zero transmission, he then backtracks and says well it might be targeted to remote communities like Aboriginal communities because he well knows if he says point blank we will go into hard lockdowns even with 80% vaccinated there will be outrage. We are not stupid. He has said but that means 20 % are still not vaccinated. He is desperate to protect his flawed health system. He is unraveling under pressure.

He has been forced into agreeing with the way forward but he doesn't like it because he knows he's a one man show and a zero Covid hero when there is no community transmission. He doesn't want that taken away from him. Imagine the blame when inevitably we will be living with community transmission of the virus.
Absolute crap.  Is Morrison going to join Palmer's latest HC challenge against WA?

Lets face it every state could have done better, the federal government should have done better and yep should have  but the simple fact is that we were not prepared for this type of catastrophic event and therein lies part of the problem.

We now have politics playing a significant part in how we are managing what is happening now.

WA have McGoo going to what really amounts an extreme posture with his 80% but still taking lockdowns a key strategy when targeted ones are the way forward. His no vac' posture is ok by me as long it is directed at everyone and allows some folk to travel within and into here with some certainty.

We have QLD, TAS, SA and NT all going down a similar path to WA but without the somewhat bullying tactic and then we have NSW and VIC where it seems that it is the population that is really the big issue.

Yep Gladiolus jis/was just being a twit and not listening (as it turns out if the media is to be believed). I am not surprised that the NSW population is behaving the way it is, her and her cabinets leadership has been non existent and relying on Morrison to bail her out which he does everytime whilst bagging other places.

Perhaps the lesson to be learned is that it is great to do disaster planning for fires, cyclones and floods but it needs to events that aren't the norm like pandemics and lets hope it never happens war!
What McGowan said was that on reaching 70/80% vaccination rate rather than needing to lockdown the entire Perth/Peel area or a country region there could be a more nuanced approach where specific suburb(s) could be locked down or a country town could be locked down if necessary.
McGoo is just making this shit up as he goes along. His kryptonite is open borders, he is shit scared of them. He dead set want's the power to shut the whole show down if someone sneezes so he can get on his soap box and tell us how much he hates doing it but he is keeping us safe, while at the same time protecting his 20th century hospital system. His arrogance and petulance yesterday towards the media was unbelievable, like a school teacher standing silent at the front of the class waiting for silence so his royal highness can speak.

I'm convinced this covid power and the latest electoral win has totally gone to his head, he's gone from the awkward guy from Rocko to Obnoxtious Mussolini like dictator pulling arrogant faces.  I also here he is about to give working class Rocko the flick and pick up a 2 Mill house in up market Highgate.

Ignoring the scuttlebutt which is absolutely pathetic, McGowan as is everyone else perfectly entitled to live where they like if they have the wherewithal to do so.

What is fascinating is the paucity of criticism of the NSW government's handling of the current delta outbreak.  Where is the criticism given that it has spread out to various areas in New South Wales and beyond?
Or how about the complete absence of any criticism of ANY Labor government by you, namely Dan Andrews who now has banned parents from taking their kids to playgrounds in their own streets ffs.

www.news.com.au/world/coronavirus/austra...720258b3cf6e6a3b924a
What is the rationale for the playground decision?

The answer is there has been an increase in transmission of the delta strain in kids in those places.
Yet again you defend and justify a Labor leaders decisions. Do you have numbers? The risk of transmission outdoors is minimal and needs to be weighed up against the cost of being locked up indoors and not being allowed out at all. And as usual it is the poorest that are the most severely penalized who live in high rise apartments with no play area.

42 there was a story in yesterday's Fin Review. It saids both the PM + Nsw Premier polling is in free fall.Linked to the Nsw Covid out break.
Morrison is inextricably linked with the NSW government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.   Morrison's haranguing of Labor state governments by comparing their handling with "gold standard Gladys" has come back to bite him and bite him big time.  It has also been noted the lack of support that Morrison gave the Victorians post the end of jobkeeper and the alacrity Morrison sprung to help NSW did not go down well with the damning commentary that Morrison is the PM of NSW.

Obviously, for Labor to win the next federal election it needs to make significant inroads in QLD and here.  After the rout of the WA state election Morrison has lost his tongue but the compare and contrast between McGowan and Morrison will play out here at the next federal election.

Obviously, Palmer is going to try his shenanigans again but his mooted high court challenge will show Queenslanders that he is interested in one person and only one person.  It is noteworthy when Palmer was asked whether he was vaccinated he refused to answer the question.

What was resonating was the line that Morrison had two jobs to do: the bushfires and COVID-19 vaccines.  A third will be added to that: the exit from Afghanistan.

Gladys Berejiklian now that the Murdoch press has abandoned her, she is extremely unlikely to survive to the NSW election.
Yet again an attack on a Liberal leader. Do you pose the same question about Dan Andrews prospects at the next election?

Mate ...you're dreaming if you're waiting for our good friend 42 to say anything remotely negative about Labor. He worshipped the ground Gillard walked on, Krudd has assumed almost saint like status in 42s eyes and if he came home and found McGoo in the cot with his missus, he wouldn't know which side of the bed to get into. It's starting to unravel for McGoo to some extent already with the SWM journos turning on him. There was a nice article by Lanai Scarr yesterday in The West which said McGoo was fast going from hero to zero due to his unwaivering commitment to lockdowns given the political success it has brought him. Others have pointed out that we're the laughing stock around the globe given we lock down over 1 or 2 cases. Other countries are starting to open up and live with the virus, we in WA have to live in fear of it because we have no other plan than to keep it out with lockdowns and closures.

Hahaha that’s a beauty

Yeh it’s as obvious as the nose on your face why 42 returned from his self imposed hiatus. It just needs to be called out after his relentless defence of McGoo and criticism of any Liberal leader, and then he calls us out for not being critical. Pot calling the kettle black.

Lanai Scarr's own words: "Even comedians from other countries are posting to social media about our harsh lockdown strategy with minimal cases compared to the rest of the world. Mark McGowan kept WA safe when they needed it most, but his strategy on how we move forward is wrong.".

One of the sources for a federal political editor's commentary are comedians from other countries.

Very selective of you 42 as she also went onto say in the next couple of paragraphs...

Mark McGowan’s pledge that even if 80 per cent vaccine take-up is reached in WA we could still face restrictions makes us even more of a laughing stock for the world.

While many other countries will be able to travel freely and their economies free-flowing, WA could still be shut off from the rest of the world.

“(Zero COVID) is now the accepted position. People will criticise. I just want to say ‘look at our life, look at all this’. People out having lunch, having fun, people at work, the office blocks have got the highest staffing levels back of anywhere in Australia, our schools are operating, our economy is going the strongest in Australia of anywhere in the world — isn’t a good thing?” McGowan said.

MPs yesterday told me that his comments risked driving vaccine hesitancy and destroying hope. They said there needs to be a move to an aggressive suppression of deaths as opposed to cases.

“Vaccination does that,” one MP said.

“It’s reckless for him to be acting this way. It gives people no incentive to actually get vaccinated and that’s the way out of this,” another said.

The NSW government failed to take the delta outbreak seriously when they started their "Clayton's" lockdown in parts of Sydney.  As a consequence the delta outbreak has spread to other LGAs in the greater Sydney area and to other regions in NSW.  It has also spread to other states and territories and also to New Zealand.  That is what is happening NOW.
