Just watched ABC insiders and they commented that Gold Standard Gladys was told by health and police to go full lockdown about a week earlier but she and health Hazzard both ignored the advice, her police commish was furious, astonishingly he's not even a member of her state emergency cabinet, pharking unbelievable. All the way through this, she has been re-active, not proactive and they are, and all the eastern states are paying the price for her inaction.
Comparisons were also done against the 2020 Vic outbreak which had higher daily numbers and higher deaths, but as previously mentioned that was pre- vax, Vic peaked after 4 weeks lockdown then fell sharply back to zero due to them going early, NSW is now in week 7 and a long way from reaching their peak. Thank heavens we live in WA!!

To me one of the keys comments Gladdy let slip was that she was concerned for NSW people but that the economic considerations were an issue, hey and now after your plan has backfired what is she now going to do!

Hang on Morrison will bail her and NSW cos they are the most important part of Australia and they are LIBERAL and yes it is a political comment!

It is notable that those on here who have complained quite stridently that McGowan should not have locked down Perth and Peel with few community cases haven't defended the NSW government's decisions not to lock down the greater Sydney area.  Of course, it is quite a task to defend the indefensible.

Also, Morrison and the American Murdoch's media personalities such as Alan Jones, Paul Murray, Chris Kenny, Peta Credlin et al own what is happening in Sydney that has spread to the rest of NSW and other parts of Australia.

You can't compare the two states as locking down NSW to WA is much harder and a drover's dog could keep WA safe with our isolation and natural borders. Berejokelian should have closed the joint down much earlier I agree but to say that McGoo is anything but a political opportunist is ridiculous.

What I said quite clearly, and has been demonstrably proved, that the WA government's action in locking down early is far more judicious than the MSW approach.  It is not a matter of hindsight to know that the NSW action of locking down only certain LGAs was not going to be effective in handling the delta variant.  It was known before the Sydney outbreak that the delta variant was far more infectious than previous COVID-19 variants.  

Instead of locking down the entire greater Sydney area at the start the NSW waited until 7 to 8 weeks in before that happened.  The consequences of that tardiness is that it has spread to other parts of NSW, to Queensland and Victoria and probably the ACT as well.

PS was the spelling of the NSW's premier's name just a typo, Freudian slip or deliberate?

It was deliberate 42...along with the other main players on the east coast being Brad "Health" Hazzard and Yvette "the kiss of D'Ath". You still can't compare locking down parts of WA to NSW as they have 3 times the population and literally hundreds if not thousands of entry and exit points into the greater Sydney region alone. In no way am I condoning or making excuses for the performance of the NSW government as clearly they've stuffed up but to compare it to what McGoo has done is not looking at like for like.

it's got to and past every doorstep of borders west , north & south hence the statewide lock - only a matter of time unless this works somehow and given the shocking number of fines it isn't just yet

To the credit of the other Australian Premiers and Chief Minister's.Covid 19 vaccines will be fast tracked to Nsw.A few weeks ago Sneakers said no to that idea.But he now realizes they will spread Delta to all parts of Australia. If they can't get on top of it.

Watching Sky News Australia it is quite remarkable how certain commentators appear to think it is Victoria that is the problem and not New South Wales and some still think that in order to quell the delta strain it is appropriate to only lockdown the LGAs that have COVID cases.
