Looking at a picture of Bondi today they just don't give a damn - hardly a mask in sight and packed walkways mate

Watching Sky News Australia it is quite remarkable how certain commentators appear to think it is Victoria that is the problem and not New South Wales and some still think that in order to quell the delta strain it is appropriate to only lockdown the LGAs that have COVID cases.
For someone who bags SkyNews so much you sure do watch a lot of it, to the point it seems an obsession. Are you the Labor Party’s Media Watchdog?

Exactly how much Sky News Australia have I watched today DD? I am not a paid or unpaid Labor Party media watchdog.  It is noteworthy that instead of speaking to the content of my post you chose to attack me personally.  Of course, I understand why you chose to attack me personally because it is impossible to defend the indefensible and support the failed methodology of the NSW's current approach to the delta strain.

Personal attack don’t be ridiculous and precious. It’s obvious what your agenda is since you came back on here after your self inflicted hiatus. All politically motivated and to revel in the glory of what you knew was going to be a landslide victory for your political party. I’m surprised OFA tolerates it TBH.

And your party leader is a national joke telling Australia hard borders and lockdowns will still be a key part of life in Mr McGoos world even with 80% of eligible citizens vaccinated. Power has CLEARLY gone to this fruit loops head.

Absolutely on the money DD.  Notwithstanding all the expert medical advice to the contrary, McGoo wants to keep us locked down indefinitely so we live in a hermit state almost like North Korea.  At an 80% vaccination level, it's time to open this place up to local, interstate and international travel and get on with life.  His dreams of eliminating Covid completely before we join the rest of the world are delusional and outright bloody dangerous.

Spot on BC, we have to draw the line somewhere, absolute elimination is just not possible unless, as you say we effectively cut ourselves off from the rest of the world, that is economically, socially and politically unsustainable. saying that, I'm happy with where we are in WA at the moment but when we get to 75-80%, then things need to move to a new approach.

Getting back to the ES numpties who simply dont get it, in the morning news it showed a packed out engagement party in Melbourne, totally illegal and a potential super spreader event, they were stupid enough to release it on social media ... durrrr,
calling it a group therapy session, now Covid Dan is saying it could lead to a significant extension of the lockdown. They better not release the address or they will need police guards to keep the locals away from them. They are facing major fines even jail time. Seems you cant legislate for stupidity and arrogance, hope they lock them all up and fine them bigtime.

I’ve been a Macca supporter because of what he has done over the journey, but can’t go with this one now.  80% and we still lock down?  Nah, that’s a bridge too far for me!!

What he actually said was that at 80% where necessary rather than locking down a whole country region a more targeted lockdown of a particular country town would be possible.  Similarly, rather than locking down the entire Perth/Peel region it may be possible to restrict it to certain LGAs.

As long as mining workers and rich people get clearance to do what they want then who knows what ridiculous rules he might come up with

The Goal Posts just keep getting wider and wider with McGhoo something akin to his swagger and arrogance at his almost sermon like press conferences, to say that even with 80% Vax rates he would still use lock downs, is outrageous, it undermines the drive to vaccinate, especially given WA has crap rates compared to other states, which is another thing teflon Cook seems to escape any scrutiny on.

If people who are vaccinated don't get certain advantages over those that are not then whats the driver and if we are still going to locked up its pointless.
