A more general observation is it has been fascinating to observe the drastic change of the right in Australia who in the 1970s and 1980s thought that states were foremost in the state versus federal debate to their current position that the federal government should be foremost.

This was an illegal protest march, they did not apply for a permit, obviously it would not have been issued given the heath emergency in the Gold standard state. They are an embarrassment, Gladys should be all over the media condemning these health vandals and imposing some strong new laws with severe penalties for those who deliberately put the rest of the public at risk and the inevitable lengthening of the lockdown due to this super spreader event. These numpties dont seem to realise that all they will achieve is a longer lockdown, with more businesses going to the wall and more people dying, including healthy young people like the poor 30yo woman who died today.

You would have to be thicker than a 4x2 to not understand that the very thing that they were protesting against was most likely going to be extended because of their actions.

Have to agree with that,  Conservative parties and voters have always been the party of the State Rights and anti Canberra, the Left have always been about central Federalism that started in a big way with Whitlam.

Visa Versa The State Labor Leaders have taken a leaf straight out of the Sir Charles Court and Joh Bjelkie Petterson play book with their State v Canberra stance, its all politics but the State leaders know the power of parochialism.

Oddly enough that never seemed to be an issue with the BLM protests, right at the height of the outbreak last year, esp given Aboriginals are supposed to be at the most vulnerable to exposure.

While it's a tragedy that healthy 38 year old Brazilian woman died from Covid in Sydney, who by the way looks anything but Brazilian, it should serve as a wake up call to all those young fit and healthy people who either are anti vax or are holding off. You could be the next victim. They should bring back the Grim Reaper ads for Aids and reincarnate them for Covid.  Worked a farrrken treat. I was shit scared of any public dunny I sat on, literally.
