Kennedy was part of EF Mid West talent academy/ EF under age squads as a youngster alongside Ryder etc...plus played a year of actual colts and a few league games for EF before going to Carlton.....so pretty sure Kennedy has had at least a 3 - 5 year connection at EF...enough for the guy to always return to EF when ever he can to help support the club....this sort of connection will be gone under the new structure....

Lets be honest, fewer and fewer players are coming back to their Wafl clubs freeze, whilst I agree it was a nice tradition and allmost expected, ie Peter Bell , Farmer for us. Its a dieing concept, look at Crowley and Jones.

You forgot the likes of Bennell, Pearce, Gault, Ellard, Ugle, Blight, Banfield, Notte, hopefully Yarran just from my clubs list this year alone!

Yarran more likely to play by the day BH :-)

Do u understand the district model bh? Plenty of kids have come through whitfords and played on MacDonald and have gone on to AFL. Next time your down at MacDonald there is a wall of photos of all the players who went onto AFL.

Good on them.

Who were they?

Are u seriously questioning whether community clubs produce AFL players....... Here is a little secret, they all played at community clubs.

No,I am asking you a Simple question.

Like 2 pages before,which you didn't answer.

You are making numerous claims and not backing them up.

I'm just curious as to Whose Interests YOU really serve,as opposed to your Mantea about Community Football!

So start with the Basics.

Who were they?

U seriously want me to rattle off names like Brett Heady etc?

No doubt Whitfords is a great club UTB at both amateur and junior level which is something I can congratulate this particular club for. Unfortunately in my experience I have seen many junior clubs held together by duct tape and the same band of few volunteers year in and year out and amateur clubs who have absolutely f all links or care for the junior clubs they should be affiliated with. A great club like Whitfords with quality links between amateurs and juniors does not truly reflect the reality of many junior and amateur community level clubs in WA. We need WAFL just as much as we need community level footy to provide channels...your kidding yourself if you think other community based clubs operate as well as Whitties...a sad reality of present day junior and ammo footy...if the WAFL ain't thriving nor will the community levels coz to be honest the AFL does not give a shit about your or my clubs here in WA...we are not part of their business model

SD from what I was told yesterday I believe it will be discussed at board level this week and Swans have a meeting with the WAFC at some point after that.

U guys are totally focusing on a minor change to the wafl.

Did u read the bit where amateur clubs will now pay players? Most league players over 25 are only at wafl for the money. They will now have other options to get paid to play.

Depends on The Club!

Me and a fellow Perth Supporter were discussing this very thing walking to the footy.A lot of players won't return to a Club with a losing Culture and recent History. They want the chance of Instant Success,as opposed to thinking what their Abilities can offer their old Club.

Grassy I think what is a key factor is the player's feelings about the club that they have previously. By any measure we had a shocker last year but were able to get back Bennell, Gault and Ellard.

So no amateurs have been paid previously? Remarkable observation.

Minor eh?

A 6 Team Competition with No Real Connection to the WAFL Clubs and you reckon that's Minor?!

Again Pal,whose Interests do you really serve,Hmmm?!?!?!?!

The change is what is best for footy as a whole, the current setup is great for wafl clubs but not what is best for football in wa.
