Once you hive off the colts comp and surrender it to the AFL as is proposed here you remove any leverage the WAFL has over the AFL.

For years the AFL has tried to buy the licences of both AFL clubs and here is the WAFC just handing them the golden goose for nothing. Un-fkn-believable.

The unrelenting ineptitude of the WAFC knows no limits.

Let's not forget the WAFC couldn't even organise themselves to win the tender for the new stadium. Ron Alexander said early in the piece they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery and did a shit job of running Subiaco Oval so why in gods name would anyone think them managing the colts comp is going to be an improvement on the current club aligned colts model. Absolute madness.

We've all been thrown a few bones like no mergers but that is just appeasement to steal the golden goose and hand it over to AFL control. Outrageous.

Well he is right about one thing at least, they did a shit job at running subiaco , who in their right mind would hand over a new stadium to them.

Nah not misled, well rounded opinions, it would seem the people at Boston have been stealing old tugboats ideas...

Aside from that, I seem to remember being dragged into a wafl thread from an amateur conversation that went on for pages discussing colts. It would seem what I was pushing has now become reality to some extent. A lot of what the Boston report contains is just plain common sense.

If your dealing with a bunch of stubborn die-hards who will not embrace change. Just go pay a few hundred thousand and get an independent review to do it for you.

Oldest trick in the book......

Uhtb the SUPPOSED rationale for the host club alignment was so that the players would have consistency with playing styles. How then does that rationale not apply for the colts playing a consistent style with the ressies and league teams of a WAFL club?

It is delusional to think that the proposal is anything other than a total removal of the colts' competition from the WAFL competition and its clubs.

There is absolutely nothing in the recommendations that I have read that even speaks yet alone addresses the problems associated with the long term viability of the WAFL competition and clubs.

It is nothing more nor less than a power grab and empire building by a group of soulless faceless people who could not care less about the WAFL.

Most colts will never play league, playing style is irrelevant colts to league.

Absolute garbage...I know for a fact at Swans we are taught the same playing style all the way through from the 15s/16s through to Colts, Development & League.
I have also pointed out to you before 21 of the 23 from our Colts Premiership in 2007 went on to play WAFL/AFL League footy, 15 from the 2008 side and as it stands currently at 15 from the 2014 team but yet you still take no notice no doubt as it doesnt support your view!
You obviously have never been involved at a WAFL club!

Jesus I think of the work the dozens of volunteers & ex-players alone whose input for these young players to benefit from is huge - then you see that mate

The players I'd like to hear from are the kids who get invited along to draft camps etc who didn't eventually get drafted along with those that were drafted over the years but never quite made it on to an AFL field and have the gone on to play their footy at state, country or ammo level. How were these kids treated from both sides of the fence. Did Boston Report even consider this sample group?
